It's exhausting trying to explain the Canada-US trade standoff to Canadians, so here's a picture.

This is a world map. I know it's deceiving but the world isn't actually flat and is much larger than this image.

The green lines are North American trade routes. As you can see, Canada and the United States are connected by land, so that means goods can travel via pipe, truck and train—relatively cheap forms of transportation.

The red lines are Asian and European trade routes. The big blue areas are ocean. That's water, and water means goods can only travel via boat and plane—much more expensive forms of transportation. Especially now with carbon taxes added to energy like jet fuel.

Canadian products are some of the most expensive in the world due to our regulatory and labor standards. US products are similarly expensive.

Transportation costs are added to the end cost of product. So what that means is Canada's expensive products will have additional costs attached for the end user. So a Canadian product on a shelf in China will be significantly more expensive than something produced locally or in a nearby nation like Russia where those same products move via the pipe/rail/truck method.

What makes trade between the United States and Canada beneficial is the low cost of transportation. So even with tariffs, Canadian made products are priced competitively against products that have to travel across ocean.

China's products are cheap because they use slave labor and low grade materials. That's never going to change. The advantage Canadian and American companies have on the American continent are competitive pricing with a guarantee of higher quality. That's why people buy homes built with Canadian lumber rather than flimsy synthetic materials produced in China. In certain scenarios, especially when it comes to big purchases, quality exceeds pricing. But the pricing has to stay competitive, and North American trade guarantees affordability.

Mark Carney can make a million deals with nations all over the world. It doesn't change geography. Nobody wants to buy a $25 carton of milk.

OK last year when I started seeing the clips from WNBA games of Clark and Cunningham fighting for their lives on the WNBA court, I admit I took a valuble hour or so out of my busy schedule to look at Clark and figure out why she was generating such obviously hostility from the league, to the point Cunningham was becoming her 'enforcer'.

The stats tell you the story.

The league doesn't WANT to be a real women's basketball league.

How is she going to do that?

There is an increasingly public CIVIL WAR underway inside the WNBA between two competing teams for control of the league.

TEAM WOKE MIND VIRUS has been in control for a long time now. And Team Woke Mind Virus is used to a a MUCH LOWER LEVEL of attention and scrutiny.

But all of a sudden...

...with the advent of Caitlin Clark, and now the meteoric rise of Sophie Cunningham...a COMPETING TEAM IS FORMING.

I call it, TEAM GIRLS JUST WANNA PLAY BALL.

All the members of GIRLS JUST WANNA PLAY BALL want to leave all the constant political distractions and activism behind and just...play...ball. Just ball.

And Team Woke Mind Virus is not handling the growing challenge to its control all that well. They make it clear they wanna go BACK to the old ways. They HATE that league is getting more popular, higher ratings, more money, better players, more fans, etc.

Because the league is growing so fast, rising into view so quickly, the CONTROL of Team Woke Mind Virus is being put in jeopardy.

When it was a quiet niche league, they faced no challenges, no spotlight, they could burble and coo the same politicized nonsense to each other and nobody cared all that much. They were the nation's most WOKE sports league, and damn proud of it!

But what happens...when events...spiral OUT OF YOUR CONTROL?

What happens when SHE shows up?

And she starts elevating and lifting your league up into the national spotlight, where you really DON'T want it to be?

Because when SHE shows up, and puts the NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT on your league in a way it has NEVER happened before...you KNOW the cracks are gonna start showing up.

And you can see what's going to happen. You can see it coming.

The league will either rise up and become a REAL WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LEAGUE or it is going to DIE under the weight of its own absurdities.

So its NOT YOUR IMAGINATION. There **IS** powerful faction in the league that is determined to GET THE NATIONAL SPOTLIGHT OFF OF IT and sink it back down into the obcurity within which Team Woke Mind Virus is SAFE.

But right now, that OTHER faction within the league is doing an awfully good job of keeping the league in the national spotlight, in the BEAM OF LIGHT, and changes are being forced to happen.

Despite all the league shenanigans, Team Girls Just Wanna Play Ball is ascending, and it's not just Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham.

There are MANY players in the league who spent their whole girlhoods dreaming of playing pro basketball...and then ended up in a broken parody of a DEI league created to push woke narratives endlessly.

They went along before now to get along, so they could play.

But now? I'll make a prediction: you're going to see more players publicly moving to leave Team Woke Mind Virus and join Team Girls Just Wanna Play Ball.

Many of the women in the league are seeing that THERE IS A CHANCE NOW TO BECOME A REAL WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LEAGUE.

And this is all many of them every really wanted.

Caitlin Clark...simply by being as GOOD AS SHE IS...is providing a MASSIVE opportunity for the WNBA to actually become what it has spent 20+ years PRETENDING to be.

And that's a beautiful thing...
