Libraries must be protected as places of learning and reading and as spaces "where you go to learn to behave, where you learn to show respect to other people, to listen, and to learn that you are important because this is for you" - @frankcottrell_b https://t.co/XXBTwB4NMj
MPs on both sides of the House of Commons leave before the PM statement on the Grenfell Inquiry findings:
They didn’t care before the fire.
They don’t care after the fire.
Each MP who left should be made to face the Grenfell survivors in person.

I entered the UK with no school certificate but an immigration stamp...
More than 20 years ago, I arrived in the UK as a teenager with no family support, not much formal education, and only $100.
I started studying English and then A-levels at Colleges. When I asked a tutor to help me with Cambridge University interview, he said:
"You are an Afghan refugee, not white, and not privately educated to go to Cambridge."
A few years later...
Studying at Cambridge and Harvard, I achieved my dream of becoming an NHS doctor and founder of a global humanitarian non-profit Teleheal, and also an innovative mental health service Arian Wellbeing to help everyone in need including hard to reach populations.
It's a lifetime of hardships and rejections that have taught me most in life.
Many young people's dreams have been ended by their school grades today.
My message to them or anyone else is - don't let grades or other people's opinions define who you are. Always believe in yourself and your dreams.
Please consider sharing this message with anyone who might need to hear this today.
For many NHS staff, the recent racist violence in this country will leave them feeling afraid and unwelcome. To those colleagues, our message is simple: you are welcome and you are valuable members of our community. Reach out for support if you need it.

This beautiful bunch, they were meant to be at work at @axainsurance Middlesbrough this morning.
Last night they coordinated to come here instead, with the full backing of Axa.
They’ve been grafting hard and brought sackfuls of glass back.
True Teesside 🙌
What the news isn’t currently showing - #Middlesbrough.
The Muslim community bringing cups of tea and biscuits for the police officers, they’ve been doing this all day too ❤️#riots#RiotsUK#Rotherham#Blackburn
My timeline is very depressing at the moment & I cannot fathom the events in England right now. It is heartbreaking.
So I am just reminding myself these wise words
Britain is seeing wave of right wing thuggery, hate crime and rioting.
This is the result of Nigel Farage.
This is the result of Suella Braverman.
This is the result of GB News and the Daily Fail.
Let's show that love is louder than hate!
RT if you stand against racism!
These are the lads from Kingswood Homes and Southport Mosque who’ve spent the afternoon working together to rebuild the wall. An amazing effort! @MENnewsdesk
