I started supporting Newcastle United on May 7 1955 - the last time they won a domestic trophy. A book on the team "50 years of Hurt" begins on the very same day! It's now been '70 years of despair' so you can imagine today was pretty special!! Howay the lads!

Disappointed that Canada Post will not be issuing a stamp to mark Canada’s hosting of the World Cup - it’s only the world’s biggest sporting event and a prestigious honour for the country.
But they will be featuring “Endangered Frogs”!
