From creating Pollinator Paradise Garden (home of our bees) to the extraction to bottling the honey to designing the logo to advertising to delivering orders, students were involved in every step. Our first thirty-three 6 oz jars of honey sold out in 2 days! @Landstown_ES

Yesterday Earthtastic Gardeners worked with out Tree Lady, Symsi Denson, to plant the beginnings of a small fruit orchard in the Earthtastic Sustainability Lab: elderberry, blackberry, black plum and persimmon. Symsi generously provides trees and expert guidance. @Landstown_ES

School Yard Farm to Table! Earthtastic Gardeners harvested 30 pounds of potatoes and delivered them to the Culinary Club members. Yesterday, the culinary club kids, with the assistance of Chef T, cooked up sweet potato souffle for 800 and served it to all today. @Landstown_ES

Garden Guardians assembled carts of garden gloves, tools and composting bins thanks to a VBEF grant. Each grade has a Garden Guardian teacher who, along with her class, will plant and care for spring and fall crops. Schoolyard farming takes the village! @vbedfound @Landstown_ES

2nd annual Pollinator Paradise Honey extraction today! The 5th grade presenters may have stolen the show. We've got a label, we've got honey, and now we jar it up to sell. Earnings go back into the Earthtastic school gardens. Taking down the classroom walls. Sweet! @Landstown_ES

Mindful Kid Kits assembled today: Zen gardens, singing bowls, mindful music, books, timers, mats, mandala coloring and more! A great addition to our school-wide implementation of mindfulness via classroom and teacher practice and Mindful Monday Moments. @vbedfound @Landstown_ES

Got to visit the gardens at Mount Vernon this weekend and was reinvigorated to teach knowledge that George and Martha Washington shared about the essential skills of growing and cooking your own food. This year's Earthtastic Garden and Culinary Club is expanding for this purpose!
