A Jazzman’s Blues was the first movie I ever wrote. It took me 27 years to make it, and after I finished making the film and released it to the world, I felt a kind of grieving in my spirit.
I soon realized that this is what can happen when you hold onto a dream for so long and finally see it come to pass. In all honesty, I wasn’t sure what was next.
Of course, I would continue doing what I was known for, but I didn’t have that next thing in my heart—until Ambassador Nicole Avant called me about The Six Triple Eight!
I’m so glad she asked me to do this movie. It gave me the excitement and hope I needed to keep moving forward. We can’t wait for you to see The Six Triple Eight! Opening this Friday in select theaters and streaming worldwide on @netflix on December 20th. This one is for EVERYONE!
