@susanorlean I have had wonderful pups named Moose, Wiggy, Thump, Nugget, Moxie, Chester, Teddy, Otto, Tater (named for Wallace Stevens poem “No Possum, No Sop, No Taters”. Might like to have a Possum and a Sop someday), Loma and Humphrey. Last 2 are current beloveds.
@RBReich The Constitution says a President “shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment”. @realdonaldtrump has been impeached. Can we argue what we already know—that POTUS 45 is unpardonable? #IMPOTUSUNPARDONABLUS!
Great (but sobering) piece by the brilliant Martin Skold on how COVID-19 will impact world order and American leadership. Key point: if we want to maintain a free world (and lead it), we need to be very careful. https://t.co/dsH7CzLZvO
Sorry to say this, but we need to plan ahead about what to do if/when Trump barricades himself in a cork-lined room in the White House, declares a national emergency, cancels the elections and tries to impose martial law. Tragically, such a scenario does not seem far-fetched.
Republicans, vote for a smart, principled candidate who would make a competent, likable, civil, nonconspiratorialist president: The GOP primaries: Bill Weld would restore principle to the party https://t.co/tLnO78I15t via @BostonGlobe
