I been wanting to replace my couch with a smaller sectional that has more sit back room… but most of everything in budget is these damn boneless, no assembly required ass couches.

“To write for a Black family, you start asking yourself, ‘What am I doing?’ So we cast all Black actors for Gerald’s family — that helped with authenticity. Then we listened to Jamil, Gerald’s voice actor, loved his phrasing and pacing, and wrote more of what he brought. In the ’90s, we were doing our best just to show different ethnicities on screen, thinking it’d be cool for a kid to see Gerald and say, ‘Finally, a character that looks more like me.’ People tell me that now.”
Craig Bartlett, Creative Talent Network (2020)
this made me wonder if cigarette brand of choice is somewhat cultural. the only people i know who smoke menthols are black men lol.
i also didn't know menthol cigarettes are considered terrible tasting. my dad smokes menthols but not any of these brands..
the way i spent so much money on my trip over the weekend, paying rent today while my wallet recovers, but still somehow considering going to the outlet shops with my mom next week.
you can tell i forgot how it feels to enjoy myself. i want a lil bit more. lol
Shoot every shot. Career. Love. Friendships. New cities. New versions of you. Take the risk. This is your confirmation. Go where your curiosity pulls you. Try what excites you. Say yes before doubt gets loud. Because the life you want isn’t hiding. It’s waiting on your move.
IT WAS CALLED THE SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR AND THEY BROUGHT THE BOOKS TO THE SCHOOL AND SET IT UP LIKE A BOOKSTORE AND YOU COULD GET GOOSEBUMPS AND FEAR STREET BOOKS BUT ALSO MICHAEL JORDAN POSTERS AND NICKELODEON BOOKMARKS AND PENCILS THAT SMELLED LIKE CUPCAKES
Unironically: start doing what worked for you as a child and watch that same curiosity and endless presence return. Read the old books you used to love. Eat at the same times you used to eat. Research your childhood interests. Do sports. Your brain will start to light up again.
