unlimited land, water, and power for ai data centers, but zero urgency when our own farmers are begging for basic irrigation and support. the priorities are completely rotten 🙃
The demand is to shut it down because the very concept of Pax Silica was not and is not designed to benefit the Philippines. It's all about what the USA wants, for the USA's benefit. There's no rehabilitating the project.
new york has already banned data centers. mind you this is a big city. their concern is that it consumes enormous power and it could drive up electricity cost.
the philippines is already having multiple electricity interruptions and suffering from higher electricity costs. pax silica will just make this worse for the filipinos. this is just another problem that the poor and middle class will have to shoulder!
FUCK OFF PAX SILICA
#NoToPaxSilica
this is the proposed Pax Silica site at New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac. Tingnan nyong maigi ang malawak na lupain na 'yan, di ka ba manghihinayang? di ka ba nababahala? It's also important to note na bago malagdaan ang pax silica ay inamend muna ang RA no. 12252+
Sen. Bam Aquino calls on the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development to expand government initiatives to middle class: "Kailangan din nila ng tulong"
During the Senate hearing on government interventions to address rising oil prices today, April 29, 2026, Sen. Bam Aquino called on the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DepDev) to expand government initiatives to middle class as they also need help.
Aquino said Filipinos earning P0 to P55,000 per month constitute about 87% of the population, which he called "almost universal."
"If universal na 'yan, dapat pati government initiatives ay universal na rin," he said.

tmi pero kakagaling ko lang sa hosp cos my tita had a stroke and since wala siyang anak or asawa, kami ng mga pinsan ko ang nag-aasikaso.. and also given na wala siyang enough funds, they had to admit her sa public hosp (the same ER and hosp where my dad was pronounced DOA almost two years ago due to heart attack) 💔
apart from the fact that it brought back so many bad memories, it’s heartbreaking to see the situation of the patients there. it reflects how bad the healthcare system is in this country. NAKAKAGALIT. NAKAKAGIGIL. you see people manually pumping their relatives’ ambu bags kasi walang available na ventilator… ultimo oxygen tank may queueing??? then you remember these corrupt officials enjoying their lavish lifestyles while people are dying not bc their case is hopeless but bc the system that’s supposed to be keeping them alive is failing them.
kaya putangina bumoto kayo ng tama kasi lahat tayo patuloy na pupulutin sa lusak dahil hinahayaan nating puro buwaya ang makinabang sa mga bagay na araw na araw nating pinaghihirapan.
SO AGAIN, CORRUPTION KILLS.
The promise of Zero Balance Billing (ZBB) must extend beyond a narrow set of patients. Middle-class Filipinos—who are often one hospitalization away from financial ruin—deserve equal protection from catastrophic medical costs.
Yet this vision is undermined by the defunding of PhilHealth and the rise of fragmented programs like MAIFIP. Without a strong, actuarially sound national insurance system, ZBB risks becoming selective charity rather than universal policy.
What is needed is a comprehensive actuarial analysis to ensure sustainability, fairness, and equity. Benefits must be expanded and strengthened, reducing out-of-pocket expenses especially for catastrophic conditions such as cancer, heart disease, and critical surgeries.
Healthcare should not be a privilege reserved for those who meet certain criteria—it is a constitutional right. The best path forward is to increase PhilHealth benefits, restore funding, and guarantee ZBB for all Filipinos, so that no family is forced into bankruptcy simply because they got sick.
