A truly generous, kind person, and a familiar face to many fans, she attended her first match at the age of 91 — the same year the @PaulCurtisArty mural was painted on the side of her home.

The Old Queensway Tunnel in Birkenhead, which also has a Harry Potter link.
When the Queensway Tunnel opened in 1934, it featured this special branch tunnel that led straight to the Birkenhead docks and towards New Brighton. Known as the Rendel Street branch (or the "Dock Exit"), it was a two-way tunnel with its very own set of underground traffic lights where it met the main carriageway. Imagine having to stop at a red light deep under the River Mersey to let oncoming traffic turn right🙄
As traffic increased over the decades, the underground junction caused too many delays, and the branch was permanently closed to vehicles in 1965.
In September 2009, Warner Bros. took over the tunnel to film a major action sequence (as Dartford Tunnel) for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1.

In February 2025 Kirian Rodriguez was diagnosed with cancer for a second time.

When he announced he had relapsed he said this in his press conference

“They told me yesterday that my cancer had relapsed. I’m going to have to stop for another six months, I wanted to be the person to tell you again. I have to fight again and like the other time, since it’s been six months, I hope to see you in the 25-26. I am convinced that it will be in First Division.”

Unfortunately Las Palmas were relegated.

Kirian returned to playing in October of this season with the club in Segunda.

Today when Las Palmas needed a victory to secure a play-off spot who stepped up and scored the opener?

Kirian Rodriguez.
