I think I’ve reached a new low: getting hit on by a dad in my hometown grocery store who thought I was a mom buying candy for my kids and that our kids could do an Easter egg hunt together
1. I’m not a mom
2. That candy was for me
I went to Trader Joe’s for the first time in years. I feel like it’s a store for people who don’t know how to cook. While the produce is cheap, it’s half rotten. Frozen meals appear cheap but amount of product is small. Overall quite disappointed 😔
There’s a section on our admission databases for this where I ask patients “do you have any difficulty reading or writing” and “how can I help you learn best” but I feel like people skip over it usually and select the patient can read and write
A mentor, friend, and transplant cardiologist told me a story about a Black patient referred to her who has been labeled “non-complaint”.
She took a few extra minutes to talk to him.
Turned out he was illiterate—couldn’t read to understand his meds.
🗣️PSA for the mosquito bite prone girlies:
Put your pimple patches (hydrocolloid patches) on your mosquito bites this summer and thank me later. They stop itching SO quick and go down 10x faster with minimal hyperpigmentation left behind.
Game. Changing. You’re welcome 🤭
If I have to explain to my kid why this is necessary in school, then I don’t care that you have to explain to your kid why Target has a Pride section. Seriously, not one bit.
