PhD candidate and inaugural John Gurney Scholar, Sinelethu Hashibi, is presenting at the 12th International Kimberlite Conference in Yellowknife, Canada this week. Her research uses kimberlite indicator minerals to infer the chemical and thermal structure of the Kaapvaal Craton.

Since it's #Blackingeo week, let me bless y'all with the #thatgneissgeologist content. I'm black PhD candidate in Geochemistry @UCTgeology. People often ask why I love Geology and its simply because as geologists we get to answer the big questions about the formation of the Earth

@UCTgeology My research, which has no title yet (honestly, a title is something you write last 😊) is studying the thermal and geochemical structure of the southern African lithospheric mantle using mantle-derived minerals exhumed by kimberlites.
