Points for honesty. I think this is absolutely true and reveals why so many of the 4D chess theories about his otherwise idiotic or inexplicable moves and statements are so preposterous. Kiss his ass and you’re good. Don’t and you’re bad. It’s not strategic, it’s lizard brained.

This goes for both pro and anti Trump theories. For instance, Putin’s flattery doesn’t explain everything but it explains more than some supposed bribes or blackmail.
