The constant assertion from Zverev that he has been "proven innocent" of domestic violence allegations is both untrue and deliberately misleading. He settled and the case was dropped as part of that settlement. A spokesperson for the Berlin court at the time explicitly clarified: "The decision is not a verdict and it does not involve a decision about guilt or innocence." He is legally presumed innocent but by choosing to settle he made the decision not to "prove" his innocence.
well tiny desk said no to me a couple times so I exercised free will and built my own! 'giant desk' out June 10th. 6 songs live from an office with these cool cats.
Friendly reminder that a judge found there was enough evidence to issue a penalty order against Zverev. He challenged it, triggering a public trial. The case was later discontinued via settlement before any verdict. And the settlement went to state and charity.
One of the really uncomfortable things about the Zverev situation we need to come to terms with is most players don't care about it. They like him, they get on with him in the locker room, they'll be happily congratulating him if he wins this.
