@mikemcintyrewpg We had tickets tonight and chose not to attend at the last minute - too much COVID going around. I'm healthy/boosted but as a doctor that looks after cancer patients I didn't feel right about the risk of passing it on to a patient.
@Todd_Friesen@bkives I've been a doc at HSC for > 10 years now - discharges are slower over the weekend, so Monday numbers are always going to be skewed higher.
@Lauren_J_MacK Well said Lauren - it's so hard to watch families separated and people dying for no good reason other than the whims and ego of a madman.
@ScottBilleck Private PCR testing is always an option for that scenario - something like the RT-LAMP kit sold by Switch Health you can do at home while symptomatic (proctored), or one of the other private testing sites in Winnipeg shortly after symptoms resolve.
@__m_pereira@Todd_Friesen@JolBjl Some PCR assays will give a pretty strong signal that a positive sample is from a variant - in Omicron s gene is negative for example.
@bcshaffer I appreciate that we need to have our own independent review. But c'mon Health Canada. This is an easy call. Anything longer than a week delay from now is unacceptable.
@WPGMurat Looking forward to hearing what Chevy and Copp have to say. Maybe this is the optimist in me - but I wonder if they have some informal agreement in place to extend him in January. Pay him slightly less this year, make it up in the following years.
@WinnipegNews With all due respect to my colleagues - numerous other jurisdictions with lower vaccination rates than Canada have reopened without an increase in hospitalizations. The plan Roussin proposed seems sensible. We have to move forward at some point.
The #CTTC2021#AnnualMeeting is live! Our conference kicked off today and will continue until Wednesday. We invite you to take part and reconnect with your colleagues from across the country. For more meeting info, please visit: https://t.co/M5p72nG5bo

There are probably very few NHL teams that could survive the loss of a 1C. The Jets are one of them. Clearly it's a huge loss but that forward lineup is still impressive
@bkives It's pretty clear that fully vaccinated individuals are very low risk for transmission - the public health rules should reflect that. People are more likely to get that second shot if their lives can go back closer to normal after. This is a good step in that direction.
