I went to the supermarket to buy groceries and, on my way in, a woman approached me asking if I could buy her some bread. I told her I would.

She picked the bread, then said she also needed milk She chose the biggest can of Peak Milk🤦‍♀️
After that, she said she needed Milo and picked the largest size available🤦‍♀️I didn’t complain.

Then she said she needed eggs because she wanted to make tea with bread and egg, claiming she had nothing to eat. But instead of taking a few eggs, she picked up a full crate!

That’s when I told her I couldn’t afford it because I came shopping with a budget, and she had initially asked for only bread. I got upset because it felt like she was taking advantage of my kindness by adding more and more items without considering whether I could pay for them🤨

She noticed my reaction and reduced the number of eggs, and I eventually paid.
What bothered me the most wasn’t helping her it was the fact that she said she only needed bread but kept adding expensive items as if my budget didn’t matter.
To me, that felt greedy. If someone offers to help me with one thing, I would never assume they should pay for everything else too.
