After building and testing many Forex EAs over the years, I’ve learned that success comes from process, not from complex code. Here are the rules
I follow:
- I never code an EA until my manual strategy already works consistently.
- I always use tick data and do proper walk-forward testing.
- I forward test every EA on a demo account for at least 3 months before going live.
- I hardcode strict risk management (max 1% risk per trade and drawdown limits).
- I test across multiple pairs instead of over-optimizing on just one.
- I never “set and forget” — I monitor my EAs regularly because markets change.

There’s no holy grail. Only disciplined development and realistic risk management.
