New research claims human emissions are not driving atmospheric CO2.

A paper by Dai Ato ran multiple linear regressions for 1959 to 2022, testing two predictors of the annual CO2 increase: sea surface temperature and human emissions.

The result was clear: when the oceans warmed, CO2 levels rose almost exactly in step - about two to three parts per million for every one degree Celsius of warming.

Adding human emissions to the model didn't change the outcome.

Using only ocean temperature, the model reproduced global CO2 levels with near-perfect accuracy - a correlation of 0.995 and an error of just one to two ppm by 2022.

The main factor governing the annual increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration is sea surface temperature rather than human emissions.

Earlier studies have shown the same pattern. Temperature changes first, CO2 follows.

If Ato is correct, cutting human emissions won't lower atmospheric CO2 because it's the oceans that set the pace.

The Palestinian Authority Is Collapsing, And It Should Be Allowed to Die

I’ve watched the Palestinian leadership from the inside my entire life.

They have rejected every opportunity for peace and statehood, from the 1948 Partition Plan, all the way to 1993, 2000, and 2008. At every single junction, destroying Israel was more important to them than building a normal life for their own people.

Instead of building a functioning society, they created a corrupt system based on victimhood and permanent conflict.

The Palestinian Authority became nothing but a criminal middleman that stole from its people while living off international aid and Israeli tax money.

October 7th was the last bridge they burned with their own hands.

The Palestinian Authority is collapsing, and it should be allowed to die. The same goes for Hamas and every other failed Palestinian entity.

The Arabs of Judea and Samaria deserve a chance at a normal life. They deserve to raise their children in peace, send them to school without teaching them to hate, and build a future instead of sacrificing them for a fantasy.

The solution is not another Palestinian “state” or another corrupt authority. The real path forward is to remove the middlemen completely and work directly with the tribal and clan leaders, the people who actually care about their communities, not about slogans and resistance.

The Palestinian Authority, Hamas, and the whole “resistance” industry have been a curse on these people for far too long. It’s time to end this failed experiment and try a completely different approach.

In just one week, Ukraine destroyed or immobilized 105 russian ships operating in the Azov and Black Seas.

For months, many people asked: Why isn’t Ukraine targeting more russian ships?

The answer may be that Ukraine wasn’t waiting - it was preparing.

What we’re witnessing now looks less like a series of isolated attacks and more like a systematic campaign to cripple russia’s maritime logistics.

Ukraine has dramatically expanded its long-range strike capabilities and drone production. The objective is not simply to sink ships - it is to make the occupation of Crimea and southern Ukraine increasingly difficult and expensive to sustain.

Long before Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Finland made a decision that now looks remarkably forward-thinking: prepare for the worst before it happens.

Beneath Helsinki lies an underground city with around 5,500 civil defense shelters, enough to protect nearly one million people—more than the capital’s entire population. Across Finland, there are approximately 50,500 shelters with space for 4.8 million people, covering the vast majority of the country’s population.

These are not abandoned Cold War bunkers gathering dust.

By law, most large new buildings must include a civil defense shelter, and many of these facilities serve everyday purposes during peacetime. Hidden beneath the streets are Olympic-sized sports halls, swimming pools, playgrounds, gyms, saunas, churches, parking garages, band rehearsal rooms, and even go-kart tracks. If a crisis occurs, they can be converted into fully operational shelters within 72 hours.

The largest shelters are carved deep into Finland’s granite bedrock, protected by massive blast doors designed to withstand shock waves, chemical agents, and radiation. They have independent ventilation, emergency power, water supplies, and are built to keep functioning even if the world above them is under attack.

Finland’s commitment to civil defense dates back to the Winter War of 1939, when the Soviet Union invaded. That experience shaped an entire national philosophy: security is not something you build after war begins—it is something you invest in continuously, generation after generation.

Today, countries across Europe—including Ukraine and Poland—are studying Finland’s model as they strengthen their own civil defense systems. What once seemed overly cautious is now widely viewed as one of the world’s best examples of national resilience.

Finland didn’t hope war would never come.

THE PROPHETIC MANDATE THAT TURNS LEAVING ISLAM INTO A CAPITAL CRIME

Quran 2:256 is frequently quoted by apologists as “There is no compulsion in religion,” yet this verse does not grant Muslims the right to leave Islam without consequence. The same Quran and the example of Muhammad make clear that abandoning the faith is treated as treason against Allah and the Muslim community.

The decisive text comes from the most authoritative hadith collections. Sahih al-Bukhari records Muhammad stating plainly: “Whoever changes his religion, kill him.” This command is not limited to wartime or specific offenses. It is a general ruling that classical Islamic scholars accepted as binding law for any sane adult Muslim who knowingly leaves Islam and refuses to repent.

QURANIC FOUNDATION FOR KILLING APOSTATES

Quran 4:89 instructs believers regarding those who turn away from Islam: “...if they turn away, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them...” The context includes those who join the enemies of the Muslims after having been part of the community.

Quran 9:73-74 and similar passages link turning away from faith with spreading corruption in the land and prescribe severe punishment in this life and the next. These verses, combined with the Sunnah, establish that leaving Islam is not a private matter of conscience. It is viewed as an act of rebellion that threatens the entire social and religious order.

SHARIAH CONSENSUS AND THE PROCESS OF EXECUTION

All four major Sunni schools of jurisprudence — Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi‘i, and Hanbali — along with Shia law, agree that an adult, sane Muslim who apostatizes (ridda) must be executed after being given a chance to repent. The process typically involves summoning the person, offering repentance, and carrying out public execution if they persist. Common methods historically include beheading by sword.

Some schools allow stoning or other hudud-style punishments when combined with additional offenses. The father or male guardian often holds authority in these matters, and family members may carry out the killing with relative impunity under classical rulings. The goal is not merely punishment but deterrence through fear, ensuring outward conformity even when private doubt exists.

THE BIBLICAL STANDARD THAT REJECTS FORCED FAITH AND MURDER

Scripture teaches that genuine faith cannot be compelled by the sword. Jesus welcomed those who came to Him freely and warned against forcing belief. The New Testament never authorizes the church or any civil authority to execute people for leaving the faith.

Discipline for unrepentant sin exists, but it stops at expulsion from fellowship, not physical death. Jehovah’s law protects life as sacred, and the Gospel offers eternal life to all who believe, without threat of execution for changing one’s mind. The contrast could not be sharper: Islam demands death for leaving; Christianity invites voluntary response to the truth.

REAL-WORLD CONSEQUENCES WHERE THE DOCTRINE IS ENFORCED

In countries that apply Shariah most strictly — Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, and parts of Afghanistan and Somalia — apostasy remains punishable by death. Converts to Christianity frequently face execution, imprisonment, or mob violence. Even in Western nations, families from devout Muslim backgrounds sometimes carry out honor-based killings when a relative leaves Islam.

The most committed believers treat the hadith command as divine law that cannot be set aside without accusing Muhammad of error. Less devout Muslims may ignore or reject the penalty in practice, but they do so against the plain teaching of the texts and centuries of scholarly consensus, not because the sources support religious freedom.

This doctrine reveals the coercive core of Islamic law. It does not produce free and sincere belief. It produces fear-driven conformity that silences questions and punishes those who seek truth outside the system.

Yet many historians consider him one of the most important people who ever lived.

Born on a small farm in Iowa, Borlaug understood from an early age that food meant survival. That understanding shaped his life's work.

ISLAM-SHARIAH LAW: RAPE VICTIMS NEED FOUR MALE WITNESSES, OR THEY ARE PUNISHED - THE EVIDENTIARY TRAP THAT PROTECTS RAPISTS AND CONVICTS VICTIMS

THE QURANIC RULE THAT MAKES PROVING RAPE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE

Quran 24:4 states: “And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses — lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept from them testimony ever after. And those are the defiantly disobedient.”

Quran 24:13 reinforces this by requiring four witnesses to establish unlawful sexual intercourse (zina). In classical Shariah, rape is not treated as a separate crime of violence against a woman. It is classified as a form of zina committed against the victim’s will. Because the evidentiary bar remains four adult male Muslim witnesses who actually saw the penetration, a rape victim who reports the crime without producing those witnesses is frequently treated as having confessed to zina herself.

HOW SHARIAH TURNS VICTIMS INTO THE ACCUSED

Under traditional Islamic jurisprudence across the major schools, a woman who claims she was raped must prove the act occurred through four male eyewitnesses. If she cannot, her report of rape is often reclassified as an admission of unlawful sex. She then faces the hudud punishment for zina — which historically included stoning for married women or one hundred lashes for unmarried women.

This is not a fringe interpretation. It flows directly from the Quran’s demand for four witnesses before any zina accusation can stand, combined with the absence of any separate category or lower standard for forced zina. The rapist walks free while the victim risks being lashed, imprisoned, or executed for the very crime committed against her.

CLASSICAL SHARIAH AND THE FOUR-SCHOOL CONSENSUS

All four Sunni schools of law — Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi‘i, and Hanbali — along with Shia jurisprudence, maintained this high evidentiary standard for zina. The victim’s testimony alone, or even the testimony of other women, carries little or no weight in these cases.

Some later scholars attempted minor adjustments, but the core requirement of four male witnesses for hudud punishment remained dominant for centuries. The system was designed to make conviction for sexual crimes extremely difficult, but in practice it created a perfect legal shield for rapists and a deadly trap for the women they assaulted.

THE BIBLICAL STANDARD THAT PROTECTS THE VULNERABLE

Scripture never places such an impossible burden on victims of sexual violence. The Bible treats rape as a serious crime against the person and demands justice for the victim without requiring multiple eyewitnesses to the act itself.

Deuteronomy 22:25-27 explicitly addresses the case of a woman who is raped in the countryside where no one can hear her cry for help, and it holds only the rapist accountable. The sixth commandment protects life and bodily integrity.

Jesus consistently defended the vulnerable and condemned those who exploited or harmed the weak. There is no verse in the Bible that requires a rape victim to produce four male witnesses or face punishment for reporting the crime. Biblical justice seeks to protect the innocent, not to punish them for the evil done to them.

REAL-WORLD CONSEQUENCES WHERE THE DOCTRINE IS APPLIED

In countries that enforce strict Shariah — including parts of Afghanistan under the Taliban, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and regions of Pakistan and Somalia — rape victims have been imprisoned, flogged, or sentenced to death after failing to produce the required witnesses.

The most devout Muslims defend this system as obedience to Allah’s clear command for establishing zina. Less devout Muslims may privately reject it, but they do so against the plain wording of Quran 24:4 and the long consensus of Islamic scholarship, not because the sources support easy justice for victims.

This single rule has destroyed countless lives by turning the victim into the criminal and guaranteeing that most rapists face no consequences.

This is not a cultural misunderstanding. It is the direct and logical outcome of applying Quranic evidentiary standards to sexual violence without compromise.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that over the past week he had met twice with U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who died on the evening of July 11 at the age of 71 after a brief and sudden illness. The second meeting turned out to be their last.

The politician’s office has not yet disclosed the exact cause of death.

“Lindsey was a true defender of freedom and of the values that make our world safer. He visited Ukraine ten times during the years of Russia’s full-scale invasion and stood here with our people when his presence was needed most,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote.

According to him, they remained in constant contact and held two meetings during the past week alone. Zelenskyy also thanked Graham for promoting bipartisan support for Ukraine and working to strengthen sanctions against Russia.

The first of their final meetings took place on July 8 in Ankara during the NATO summit. Graham attended alongside a bipartisan delegation from the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.

The parties discussed supplies of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems, a programme for purchasing American weapons with funds provided by partner countries, and a new sanctions bill against Russia.

On July 10, Graham travelled to Kyiv and met separately with Zelenskyy. The Ukrainian president told him about the continuing Russian strikes and the shortage of interceptor missiles, as well as the agreements reached with Donald Trump in Ankara. The Ukrainian side had received political approval for licences allowing Patriot systems to be manufactured in Ukraine.

During the meeting, Graham informed Zelenskyy about the progress of his sanctions bill and said that the right moment had come to move it forward.

According to the senator, Ukraine’s military successes had to be reinforced by economic pressure on Russia and on the countries helping it continue the war.

Graham died one day after the talks in Kyiv. On the evening of July 11, emergency services received a report of chest pain at the senator’s home in Washington.

Rescuers had to force open a locked door, after which they began resuscitation efforts. Cardiac arrest was mentioned in emergency-service radio communications, although the official medical cause of death has not yet been established.

Shortly before his death, Graham also spoke with Trump by telephone. The U.S. president said that the senator had complained of fatigue after the long trip to Ukraine but otherwise sounded normal.

The following day, Graham was scheduled to appear on Meet the Press and discuss the results of his trip. He never had the chance.

Graham had represented South Carolina in the Senate since 2003. Before that, he served for eight years in the House of Representatives.

He served as a military lawyer in the U.S. Air Force and retired with the rank of colonel.

In American politics, he was regarded as one of the most consistent supporters of the active use of military force abroad.

For many years, he was Senator John McCain’s closest foreign-policy ally. He later transformed from a fierce critic of Trump into one of his most influential supporters.

Graham played a particularly prominent role in shaping U.S. policy toward Iran. Shortly after the 2024 election, during a round of golf, he reportedly urged Trump to strike Iranian facilities.

In the following months, the senator repeatedly travelled to Israel, discussed a possible operation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and advised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on how to present the idea to Trump.

One of Graham’s final major initiatives was a sanctions bill against Russia, drafted together with Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal.

The original version called for primary and secondary sanctions, as well as tariffs of 500 percent on goods from countries that continued purchasing Russian oil, gas, petroleum products, and uranium. By May 2025, the bill had the support of 81 senators, but it had not been brought to the floor for a vote.

A lot of people wonder how the pro-Palestine/Anti-Israel protests started within hours of the Hamas terror attack and often included preprinted posters and ready made "genocide" chants. How was it so organized and "spontaneous"?

I, and other journalists, are chasing the 'follow the money' story behind the movement that appeared "out of nowhere" on October 8.

This past week, an @NGOmonitor report provided the data inside the UK experience. It maps 40 major post-October 7 protest and mobilization campaigns in the UK — and it undercuts the "spontaneous grassroots reaction" narrative that took hold right after Hamas's October 7 massacre.

The findings: At least 11 of the 40 organizations mapped have links to extremist actors — the Iranian regime and IRGC, Hamas, Hezbollah, the PFLP, or the Muslim Brotherhood — either directly or through officials who met or cooperated with them.

Leadership overlaps heavily across the six primary coordinating groups. Jeremy Corbyn—the antisemitism former Labour Party leader— alone holds posts in three of them simultaneously. The funding for Corbyn's own group, the People's Forum UK, is undisclosed.

Youth recruitment is a high priority — Amnesty International UK is cited for running an activism-training program aimed at UK youth; Friends of Al-Aqsa for youth-mobilization messaging.

—Of the 40 groups, only 10 are registered charities.
—Thirteen operate completely outside any formal UK regulatory framework — while still soliciting public donations.
—Nineteen receive UK government funding via the FCDO or Gift Aid. At least 11 draw taxpayer money from other governments too, including the US and several EU states.
—Funding also flows from major US progressive foundations — Open Society, Rockefeller Brothers Fund among them — plus, per the report, cryptocurrency channels used by CAGE and Palestine Action, the latter now a proscribed organization under UK law as of a June 2026 Court of Appeal ruling.

What the NGO Monitor report shows is a well-funded, coordinated infrastructure that existed before October 7 and moved fast because it was already built — organizationally, financially, and rhetorically — around "genocide" messaging with no space made for Israeli victims.
