Building media brands so I can gamble the proceeds on the stock market. I enjoy solving engineering problems while automating and scaling media creation.
imo youtube is pretty chill with demonetizations / terminations right now because it's Summer and people are out of office (even though the enforcement of rules is automated, they don't want to support tickets to pile up etc), so it's a good time to scale it up
GPT Images 2.0 is pretty good for thumbnails right now, might spin up a completely automatic video production and publishing with no input from me besides the title, just need to get the heuristics right when calling the API (as always)
It really is all just pattern recognition and twisting and turning, huh
Remembered my first-ever outlier vid from 2023 on the Russian personal brand channel I ran, then decided to remake it on a completely new faceless channel 3 years later, and of course it’s a bomb.
It seems like Grok is the most visually context-aware LLM. Might it be the most suitable to be an 'overseer' of your automated content farms, automatically curating footage?
I find it fascinating that it can see some random video and say, “This video is from Arkansas, shot in 2009, and the people in it are such and such.” How does it reach these conclusions?
Need to test it through the API to see if it’s capable outside of Twitter.
@MarioJoos I doubt they have a good prediction system for this right now, but as it gets better imo educational videos shown in classrooms would win big from this.
@Vexian One of my acquaintances 1.5 yrs ago got a 200k+ massive view outlier video (now at 1.2M), I told him about the Vex effect, but his next vids stayed at thousand-ish views. Unlucky
Looks like AdSense doesn’t need a PIN anymore? Made a new AdSense, and all they needed was identity verification. Today, they've already sent the payment.
That's neat. I remember waiting 1.5 months for a PIN back in January 2024, when they sent a physical letter from France to Kazakhstan like it was the early 2000s
Day 1 after getting my YouTube channel into an MCN:
- Very happy to get in. Probably lowers the chances of this channel getting nuked by Gemini.
- an MCN can send you the money the day you earned it in YT Studio for a 10% extra fee. Basically even before YT sends the money to them, which is mega nice if you're illiquid or just don't want to wait 2 months like YouTubers usually do.
- The deal I got personally is I keep 90% of revenue, plus any extra fees for things like express withdrawals. Money can be withdrawn any day via crypto or traditional banking.
- Overall, it's way nicer than working with AdSense and I don't mind the fees. They go lower the more you earn and their cut can go as low as 2-3% from what I've heard.
For example I love binge-watching this guy to learn something new about boxing, the app on the back-end is pretty clever, too. RPM I'd say about 4.5ish? But he's making more on the back-end and sponsorships, I'm sure.
It’s become impossible for me to watch YouTube without instantly calculating how much the person who made the video is making, and what back-end offer he has
