I can’t get over the BS from Stephen A Smith that happened today regarding Lane Johnson. Truly.
When me & my family were told my Dad had weeks to live, I literally dropped everything & spent every possible second I could with him. Didn’t leave his side. I was very grateful to have a job that allowed me to take the time I needed to be with him. I could not even wrap my head around doing anything besides spending every waking second with him. It was as if nothing else mattered.
I can only imagine Lane is going through something similar. Seeing a parent like that is one of the worst feelings in the entire world & makes you quickly re-prioritize everything. I would imagine that’s exactly what happened. He made the decision for his family & himself & that is all that matters. Family first, always.
To be mocked publicly for this on national tv is absolutely insane. To be mocked by someone who claimed that they take mental health seriously is absolutely insane. To be mocked by someone who claimed they went through something similar with their parent is absolutely insane. To be mocked by this exact person who then gave the most half-assed statement afterwards is absolutely insane. (I’d call it an apology but that’s absolutely not what it was.
Shame on Stephen A, shame on ESPN & shame on every other ESPN employee who sat there while he went on his asinine rant & didn’t say a word. There’s a 0% chance he would say anything remotely close to this to Lane’s face, but man does part of me wish he would.
You’re a joke of a tv host & a joke of a human being @stephenasmith. Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to describe it. Good riddance.
@a2dradio@Eagles Keep steen in n put jurgens on ir then because he looked like a revolving door out there. We gotta try something different to get this offensive line back into shape cus the we ain’t gonna win squat running a revolving door at both guards every week
I don’t live near Philly, so I can’t listen to WIP radio. But Spike Eskin’s comment - “I’d rather lose without LeBron James than win with him,” has to be one of the stupidest things ever said by anyone.
