Hockey Parents:
I typically don't condone going in and speaking to the coach about hockey matters. It should be your kid that goes in and has that conversation.
However, if you do feel like it's appropriate to go in there I have one piece of advice:
Go in asking questions, not demanding things.
If you go in saying my “kid deserves this” there's going to be a wall that goes up between you and the coach that you will not be able to get through.
The best thing you can say is “what can my son or daughter do to be better so they can earn more ice time?”
Earned not given is the way.

Hockey Parents: What's your why?
It's the most important question you can reflect on as things get crazy for you in this ever-changing, stressful youth hockey landscape.

Where does Sid rank amongst your top players of all-time? 🧐
Some great advice on the integration of a more rounded athlete development model that in conjunction with skill development, there is a premium on mentality, leadership, virtues and character.
Saying Connor McDavid hit 100pts in 53 gms because he played in the weakest division in hockey is the most ridiculous thing you can say about his record setting season. You ever think how many pts he’d get playing in the normal West division against the teams shown below?
