As part of my settling down into my role @ASG_Africa , I visited @BankofKigali and paid a courtesy call on its CEO @dianekarusisi and her senior management team yesterday at her kind invitation. We explored potential collaborations between our two institutions beyond banking services, including in the area of executive education. Given my previous role as Deputy Governor @cenbank , I was able to appreciate the work of Rwanda’s largest bank by assets. CEO Karusisi happens to hold a Ph.D. in Quantitative Economics and was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland earlier in her career. So she is a “quant”, and I believe she belongs as much to @ASG_Africa and its public policy & governance education mission as to Bank of Kigali!
BK CEO @dkarusisi emphasized, "We are honored to serve as the financial partner of choice for the Diocese of Kigali. Their extensive network of projects provides ample opportunities for us to expand our banking solutions to the wider Catholic community. Our team is committed to providing comprehensive support in business development, financial literacy, and funds management."
This collaboration between Bank of Kigali and the Diocese of Kigali aligns with both organizations' shared commitment to fostering financial inclusion and empowering individuals and communities across Rwanda.
Bank of Kigali CEO Dr. Diane Karusisi hosted a courtesy visit for a delegation from the Diocese of Kigali, led by His Eminence Cardinal Antoine Kambanda, at BK Headquarters. The meeting aimed to strengthen the existing partnership between the two institutions and explore potential areas of collaboration, including Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
Discussions also centered on expanding the partnership to encompass other BK Group subsidiaries, such as BK Foundation and BK General Insurance. His Eminence Cardinal Antoine Kambanda expressed his appreciation for the ongoing partnership and reaffirmed the strong relationship between the two organizations.
