@Allesontiire@Garbo824 @catholicpeater @metathomist I stand corrected. Are you, though, insinuating that the dead are dead in the sense that they are unaware/alseep?
@D3715David@sola_chad It’s interesting that the leading Bible podcast was the Catholic app Bible in a Year. Stop bearing false witness. The Bible is read at every Mass. A lot. Reading the Bible is encouraged. Good grief.
I'm sitting here reading The Imitation of Christ, and again I'm confronted with the beautiful fact that old teachers spoke just as much about HELL as they did the Lords grace. Today, all I read and hear is about how God is Love, and full of mercy. But you forget, HELL exists for a reason, and it is NOT EMPTY. Kyrie Eleison.
Prayer for the Unborn
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with hearts burdened for the unborn, whose lives are at risk of being taken before they have a chance to live. We know that each child, from the moment of conception, is precious in Your sight. We ask You to guide mothers everywhere, especially those considering abortion, to recognize the sacredness of the life within them. May they reconcile within their hearts the gift that You have entrusted to them, even when it may seem unwanted or overwhelming. Let them feel the gentle presence of Your Holy Spirit, who is the Lord and Giver of Life.
We ask, too, for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who bore her own Son in her womb with great love and faith. May she, who is the Mother of all, touch the hearts of these women and lead them to a place of peace, acceptance, and hope in their sacred role as mothers. As she said ‘yes’ to Your will, may they also find the strength to say ‘yes’ to the life within them.
In a special way, we invoke the powerful words of Mother Teresa, who said:
“The greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child… If we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?”
And again, she reminded us:
“It is a poverty to decide that a child must die so that you may live as you wish.”
Lord, through the intercession of St. Teresa of Calcutta, may these words pierce the hearts of those in positions of power and responsibility, both mothers and elected officials. May all political leaders, regardless of party, come to realize that one of their most sacred duties is to protect the lives of the vulnerable, particularly the unborn, who are the weakest among us. Open their eyes to the sanctity of life and strengthen their resolve to defend the marginalized, the unseen, and the forgotten.
We pray for an end to the tragedy of abortion and for a world where every life is cherished, from conception to natural death. In this we trust and hope, knowing that You are the source of all life and love.
Mother Teresa, intercede for us.
Blessed Virgin Mary, pray for us.
Holy Spirit, guide us.
Amen.

@ManassehRJones@CrushnSerpents@farmingandJesus@TalentEvaluator@cjohnsonn0311 I understand that, but it really didn’t answer my question. Honestly, how would you apply this to the Catholic understanding of the Eucharist vs your understanding of it? I don’t want to assume, but I would say that you believe it is merely a symbolic ordinance.
