@bexleynews The Tories are in charge of the country. They’re responsible for directing the Department for Transport.

But the Treasury and DfT are pushing the cuts, and the DfT were bringing this all in this year anyway. It was public in 2017.

@DavidEvennettMP It’s worth saying that the people who are currently making timetabling decisions, including the continuation of service cuts, are in the Department for Transport. You need to speak with the new SoS Transport, and then they will tell you the changes are made and tough luck.

Very disappointing if true if this took place in just one signal box, one very important and covering London to Brighton (effectively). Also, informed that possibly trains ran towards the line closed by the lorry collapse in Scotland today due to rules not followed. @RMTunion

@philatrail Pretty much everyone agrees that Gatwick doesn’t require a special service, mostly because Thameslink is the main driver of demand. Sooner the 387s stop being red, the better!

@RealJohnWynne @TheMurkyDepths Didn’t High Speed operate for passengers on weekends only for a short period of a few weeks before it opened to the public, such that passenger numbers would definitely be lower and therefore risk would be lower until crews were familiar via their rotating roster?
