That being said, we know 1st doses alone can be less effective against variants. Vaccines are about 73% effective against B.1.1.7 variant after 1 dose & 91% after 2. They are about 33% effective against Delta variant after 1st dose & dramatically rise to 80%+ after the 2nd. (5/6)
