After a short illness, Bob passed away peacefully this morning, surrounded by his family. He was 91.
A former aircraft investigations engineer, Bob was a jovial, strong-willed and independent man who lived all his life in Woolwich, South East London. He generously gave his permission for me to marry his daughter, a moment of trust and kindness that meant a great deal.
He is now reunited with his beloved wife. Both will be dearly missed.
Rest in peace, Sir.
