@rosieanice And with respect, you aren’t the demongraphic that any political party needs to convince to vote for them. I’m not defending shitty decisions and I especially don’t agree with the tax cuts position but the reality is you have to win elections.

@rosieanice Sorry Rosie but this isn’t a good take and frankly kind of offensive. Reviewing these policies doesn’t mean they won’t have a position on these issues going into the next election. Do you think Labor will win by running the same policies and campaign as last time?

@ThornburyRocks There have been lots of moments where I have asked myself if my belief that working and vulnerable people are better off overall under a Labor government is strong enough to compromise my values on certain issues for. And the answer is always yes. But it’s not without true angst

@ThornburyRocks This a disappointing move. I do periodically grapple with this q, I guess it’s the same reason I don’t bin my union m’ship any time my union does something I don’t personally think is best. And having worked on fed ALP campaigns recently I know there’s political pragmatism…

@ThornburyRocks …that drives these decisions. Labor needs to win and the Fed electoral landscape is making that incredibly challenging, due to a toxic combo of several factors. As much as it pains me to say it some policies are best left tackled after we get back into govt -if that ever happens

@kimbaheartsyou Because it requires employers to keep their employees on their books and provides a longer term means for businesses to keep operating or at least stay afloat through the pandemic and be able to employ people when things open up. Far better option for long term security.

@SquigglyRick I had a similar experience recently. My dad discovered one of his chooks was missing a leg. Otherwise fine. Baffled as to how it could have happened and why it wasn’t showing any obvious signs of distress. The bit that broke me was when he said he’d decided to name it ‘Drumstick’
