@jeffhardwick8 Would love a general with you! Like the rest are saying DMs aren’t allowing anything to be sent. Hopefully you’ll figure out how to open them up (is it a private vs public setting?)
@DianneNora Neither union has called for that to happen (yet…) so I say it is completely up to you. If that is your way to signal support I think it is great but there are also excellent new shows that may not get seen or get second seasons if people aren’t watching… complicated topic
@kelleent Part of it is also the money the studio has to campaign for the person to be nominated. The more people hear or see about a show being great the easier it is for the sub conscious to believe it and vote accordingly. Emmys and Oscar’s donot necessarily equal best performance sadly
@BoneFM@sagaftra No, it will be the AMPTPs faults. Stop blaming workers for demanding to be treated fairly instead of the corporation who are trying to cut costs to make themselves and their shareholders more money
@jamesvsimpson The problem isn’t the ticket price (although i would see $5 movies 3xa week as a kid) it’s the value of the experience that streaming changed. Especially during COVID people learned to enjoy films on their tv and lost the excitement associated with a movie experience in theaters
@DeeLaSheeArt I remember years ago trying to make a payment with the. sallie Mae using an American Express card &they told me they only accept debit cards or routing numbers now cuz people were charging all their student loans on credit then declaring bankruptcy… geniuses, I was too late
@SteveO2385@DannyJolles But that’s the new model with streamers and with network; less episodes. It’s a problem. They are doing half orders even on network. I agree that if they had to pay per episode for series that are 22 episodes the way they used to they would not invest the same money in the “name”
@SteveO2385@DannyJolles Correct, until recently “name actors” didn’t do tv. This is a new thing that is happening for similar reasons to why they only want shows with IP. They don’t trust that a show can succeed without a built in audience.
@SteveO2385@DannyJolles Name actors and working actors are very different especially in the context of getting a show made. This is no shade to Brian cox or any of the elite actors on the show but recognizable to my parents in small town texas is basically the qualifier for “name actors”
@inaki_salinas @RufusTSuperfly I literally knew it was coming everytime and could not stop laughing. It really does get funnier especially this super cut.
The student debt crisis leaves no generation unscathed—and there’s no generation that wouldn’t be helped by President Biden using his power to #CancelStudentDebt. https://t.co/l0K2WkDD2O
