@daisymhernandez It still amazes me how being an influencer is now a viable career path. I wonder how much work these creators are actually putting in and if the wages they are earning are appropriate for what they do, at least in comparison to other parts of the entertainment industry. #BeachSMC
I think it is interesting the generations who most contributed to the growth of social media are now turning away from it. But, I agree all the new complex features of each platform can make one miss the simplicity they once had. #BeachSMC

The fact that children as young as 7 years old are using social media is insane to me. So many children under 10 have their own cell phone. Without moderation or supervision, the access to social media can be dangerous for kids. #BeachSMC

@iiris_wang Personally, I go to TikTok for its short-form content when I only have a few minutes. If I wanted to watch longer content, I would go on Youtube. I probably wouldn't stick around for a whole 15 minute TikTok. Curious if others feel the same. #BeachSMC
This is heartbreaking. I had no idea social media could be a such critical communication tool for these people. The algorithms censorship of such topics have made it difficult for these people to get news or connect with others in a time of need. #BeachSMC https://t.co/PIItPNStiP
Another new feature is being tested for Instagram. I think having polls in the comment section of posts will be a great way to interact with others without having to create a new story post, as you currently would to create a poll. #BeachSMC

@SSnyderCSULB I'm not surprised by the decline of snapchat. I stopped using snapchat a couple years back, along with many I know. Apps such as instagram have the same capabilities as snapchat and more. I am much more likely to use an app that can be a "one stop shop". #BeachSMC
Elon Musk continues to evolve X into an "everything" app. This livestream shopping event seems like a good way to advertise products while giving the creator a chance to monetize their fan base. I wonder what the turnout will be like. #BeachSMC

I'm not surprised TikTok is testing an ad-free subscription to the app. The question is, will they make a larger profit from this compared to companies paying TikTok to share their ads? I'm interested to see if this feature will last. #BeachSMC

@megannccoakley This was an interesting article. I agree that popular posts can have a negative impact on audiences and could sway ones personal choices and beliefs. This can affect things such as political stances and even who wins a vote. #BeachSMC
This new app inspired by BeReal and Snapchat seems like a unique twist to sharing candid photos. I’m interested to see if it gains popularity like the other two apps have. #BeachSMC

School districts are attempting to get large social media companies to protect its younger users’ mental health. I feel like teens would be able to get around any limits that may be set, like by lying about their age. Is there a better solution? #BeachSMC

I remember when Instagram decided to get rid of the chronological order of posts, so many were upset by this. The change made it more likely for people to stay on the app longer. This was clearly great for Meta, but was it best for users? #BeachSMC

@iiris_wang I find this very interesting. I like how they will give users the option, but as mentioned in the article, the algorithm is what makes it so easy use. I wonder if this would alter the success of the app in any way. #BeachSMC
This would be a nice feature to have on Instagram, but a very similar feature can be used on Tik-Tok. It always interests me when developers incorporate features from other apps onto their own. Instagram seems to do this frequently. #BeachSMC
