it wouldn't have mattered what side you were on because anything that i never want to lose is always lost. this is how it's always been for me. everything worth want is lost the moment i obtain it.

Alex’s brows furrowed. Something seemed off about Tim, moreso than the obvious… But the dark made it difficult to tell exactly what.
“Tim—” he urged, voice tense. This could not possibly be happening at a worse time. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t been given this lecture (+)
Alex knew what was happening before it happened.
The gentle crunch of old, wet leaves and grass could’ve been brushed off as nothing. So could the feeling of being watched—Alex had been paranoid for a very long time, and had a practiced patience for the intricacies (+)
swim. All he could do was keep himself afloat / long enough / to maybe, just maybe, quietly urge whoever it was away.
Unfortunately for both of them, it was no good. Before long, a familiar person stood in front of him; Timothy Wright, former acquaintance and stalker. (+)
aside from the occasional blink of hazy light streaming from a road just a few miles away.
Miles, right. He needed to start walking. With a gruff sigh, he turned the flashlight on his phone on and picked a direction—hoping
he wouldn’t run into any familiar faces.

Alex woke up.
…With no memory of actually falling asleep, the man felt his eyelids slowly creak open. Pressure squeezed his skull tight as he came to, and he let out a soft groan. Alex’s own hand reached up to rub the sleep from his eyes, only to freeze (+)
He let out a small sigh of relief upon finding a heavy device in his jacket—his phone, thank God. Though it would do no good for the most part, with there being no reception in the park, the flashlight feature would certainly be a relief. After all, it was pitch black—(+)
