NEW: I'm investigating major grocery chains for spraying organic produce with pesticides without telling consumers.
It's not only wrong for grocers to mislead consumers about chemicals being sprayed on their food—it may very well be illegal.

Earlier this morning, I announced that @KenPaxtonTX and I will be speaking at a @TPUSA event at the University of Houston on Tuesday, November 11.
I had a long call with Turning Point executives yesterday about putting TPUSA chapters on every high school and college campus in Texas.
As we wrapped up the call, I shared a fond memory of Charlie from President Trump’s 2017 Inauguration. Charlie and I were going to the Trump Hotel to celebrate and walked in the door at the same time. We began a conversation from there.
I was always inspired by his mission “to identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government.” Charlie was confident he could do that. Later, he brought his faith into his discussions on campus with boldness and conviction that only grew his following.
I had not planned to make a donation before the call, but the Lord put it on my heart to make a meaningful contribution to kick start the Texas project.
I committed a million dollars from my campaign to honor that young man from many years ago who shared his dream with me and in hopes others will follow at any amount - whether it’s $10 or much more. He gave his life for his mission. He gave his life for Christ.
It’s up to us to see his vision grow far beyond what even he may have thought possible.
Since Charlie’s death, over 135,000 requests have been made to start TPUSA chapters.
Texas has the size and the heart to open more chapters than any other state and more than most countries.
Let’s get it done for Charlie, and for Texas.
Unbelievable poise and control. Not to mention this woman just forgave her husband’s assassin in front of the entire world. For those who can’t wrap their minds around it…that’s what Christ did for you.
“Charlie, right now, is in heaven. Not because he was a great husband & father…. Not because he sacrificed himself for his Savior. Charlie Kirk is in heaven, because his Savior sacrificed himself for Charlie Kirk” 🔥
- Apologist/Mentor Dr. Frank Turek
I am just one of thousands whose path was shaped by Charlie Kirk’s visionary work in building @TPUSA. In 2019, I started working with TPUSA and eventually became a member of their Speakers’ Bureau, an experience that led to so much more than I ever would have imagined.
What Charlie built in fostering healthy debate and educating students on limited government and free market principles is a legacy we can be certain will endure.
Far more important than Charlie’s political work, however, was his commitment to spreading the gospel. It is easy to be grieved by the wickedness of this world, but we can rejoice knowing that Charlie is in Heaven in the loving arms of his savior. @SenBryanHughes and I continue to lift up Erika in prayer, taking comfort in knowing that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
I want to thank Lt. Governor @DanPatrick for forming the Senate committee tasked with protecting free speech on campuses, and for appointing my husband to serve as Vice Chair.

Today Governor Abbott signed our bill banning dangerous chemicals in school lunches.
When my friend @yoalexrapz started talking about corruption in the American food system early last year, it sparked my curiosity about the foods children eat every day at school.
I was astonished to learn that millions of Texas school children were eating meals containing:
▫️Petroleum-based dyes linked to hyperactivity
▫️Proplyparaben - Endocrine disruptor that mimics estrogen
▫️Titanium Dioxide - Associated with DNA damage & immune system toxicity
▫️Brominated Vegetable Oil - Endocrine disruptor linked to developmental & reproductive issues
… and taxpayers were subsidizing and paying for this.
It didn’t take much to convince @senbryanhughes that if Texas is going to provide meals for students, we should at least make sure the meals are nutritious and safe to consume. And so, he introduced legislation banning dangerous chemicals in school lunches (SB 314).
Bryan — you are the best husband in the world. I can’t thank you enough for trusting me on this issue and for carrying this bill. Because of you, parents will never have to worry that their children’s lunch is full of carcinogens. I love you and I am SO proud of you.
Thank you to @GregAbbott_TX, @DanPatrick, @RobertKennedyJr, @calleymeans, @humankarp, @travelingenes, @ferrisbuhler81, @drmarkhyman, @LoisKolkhorst, @CarolineForTX, and everyone on Team Hughes.
Europe bans thousands of chemicals we allow in our food. Why aren’t we asking why?
Childhood obesity has increased by 400% in the last 40 years.
Type 2 diabetes in adolescents has surged 200% in just two decades.
1 in 4 teenagers has prediabetes.
ADHD diagnoses have skyrocketed 800%, and autism rates have gone from 4 in 10,000 to 1 in 36 (!!!)
This isn’t normal. This isn’t genetic. This is a food problem.
It’s time to wake up. Food is the root cause of our crisis—and it must be the solution.
That’s why I’m fighting for SB 314, a bill that bans some of the worst chemicals from public school meals—because no child should be forced to eat food that puts their health at risk.
please dont make people at the inauguration stand out in the cold. americans nowadays are wearing slim, low rise stretch chinos, torsos all exposed, 8oz cotton-poly blends. they will DIE.
Good to see the FDA finally banned Red Dye 3 today—just one of the many dangerous chemicals my SB 314 would remove from school lunches.
We’re glad the feds finally got this one right, but we’re not waiting on Washington to protect Texas children.
One down, lots more to go. #txlege
