Today, @JohnHealey_MP announced that growth is "central" to his mission as Chancellor.

Andy Burnham wants to give Mayors more powers to let Britain build.

So here’s another idea:

Right now, mayors CANNOT approve tram or rail projects in their OWN cities.

A minister in London has to approve it for THEM.

Leeds is the LARGEST city in Western Europe with NO mass transit system.

We wonder why…

🚨 Energy bills are SET TO RISE by £60 to a three-year high.

Britain is in an ENERGY EMERGENCY.

Industries are COLLAPSING. Households cannot afford the BASICS.

We have a plan to GET BILLS DOWN by £300 NOW.

Here's how:

1️⃣ SCRAP all levies on energy bills. These stealth taxes on the British people are unnecessarily hiking up their bills by hundreds of pounds.

2⃣ REOPEN THE NORTH SEA, and directly deploy the tax revenue generated to GET BILLS DOWN, rather than importing from overseas.

3⃣ Stop new CfD contracts and launch an investigation into the system that signed them off. Last year, billpayers paid £1.5 billion for big renewable corporations to THROW ENERGY AWAY. By 2030, it could be £10 BILLION. The existing settlement is a national scandal.

4⃣ Scrap Clean Power 2030 targets. These needless constraints have pushed civil servants to procure wind at any cost – and at huge expense to the British people.

5⃣ DITCH the duties of energy regulators, NESO and Ofgem, towards Net Zero goals, so their only focus is to MINIMISE ENERGY COSTS, subject to security of supply.

6⃣ Hold auctions for connecting to the grid, and directly deploy the revenue generated to GET BILLS DOWN

Our Emergency Energy Bill has cross-party support. It is ready to PASS IMMEDIATELY. It does what governments for the past 20 years didn’t – it takes RADICAL ACTION to SAVE OUR INDUSTRIES and GET BILLS DOWN.

Three weeks ago, LFG demanded the Government END THE DELAYS and BUILD ABINGDON RESERVOIR.

Now new polling shows almost 9 in 10 people in the South East want it BUILT.

Our ancestors built reservoirs in FOUR (4) YEARS.

We have better technology and better machinery.

So there’s NO EXCUSE for the Government.

It SHOULD NOT take us DECADES.

And yet, there is no direct rail connection between Heathrow and Reading.

Companies like Oracle and Verizon have important offices in Reading.

So, why is there still no direct rail link to Heathrow?

It's bizarre that it is easier to go by train from Reading to Gatwick than to Heathrow, even though Gatwick is roughly twice as far.

What's missing? The Western Rail Link to Heathrow that was never built!

REGRESSION is real. Nothing says it clearer than this.

For just £11 million, the Victorians built Hammersmith Bridge.

In 2019, it was SHUT.

Seven years later, the Government is adamant that it’s not possible to even REPAIR it.

No buses, no ambulances, no vans, and no taxis can cross.

NOTHING.

Our political class must do what the Victorians PROVED is POSSIBLE.
