Just added another team to trade list. Reality setting in for him that he doesn’t have the leverage, like I had said. Will continue to add more teams to avoid having to go to camp.

@exmortus899 @Cosmicneurons13 No he isn’t. Why don’t the canes just sign Nikishin to 11 million aav then? Why do you think they’re trying to trade him? Edvinsson is younger, bigger, great puck mover, and better defensively. Again, I would LOVE to have both on the Wings. Both really good players.

@Cosmicneurons13 @moflow53 Would love to have both and think we have the assets to acquire Nikishin who could develop within a bigger role (still unsure). But under no circumstance am I giving up Ed. Would be inexcusable. Wouldn’t part with him in the Hughes trade. Can’t lose him three months after.

@HockeyWithDevin It would really be Ed that does it for me. Larks requested a trade and Kane has maybe a year left. Edvinsson is homegrown and 23. If he leaves, then so should SY.

@Java1965 @RyanHanaWWP Not disagreeing with that at all, but with how important Ed is to our rebuild process I just wouldn’t want to risk exposing him. I know it’s tough, but at some point SY will have to spend money to retain homegrown talent. I’m hoping it would come in at 8x8.5

@Java1965 @RyanHanaWWP About to meet the same fate as his buddy Verbeek, because they both want to nickel and dime good young players. Don’t blow the cap all the way up, but you have to lock in your second best defender with great upside. Get it done.

I think we would match anything around 9 million (believe Canes have just under 10 mil in cap), but what worries me is exactly what just happened with Leo. Signs shorter term offer sheet so he can hit UFA status quicker. Would hate to see Ed leave... love him!

@ErikisOkay @NHLRumourReport That’s not what I’m fixated on with a Larkin trade. SY has said he wants NHL ready players and knowing how obsessed he is with term, I’d assume non expiring contracts. Outside of Yurov, who fits that for MN? If they would part with EK it would really start the convo.
