Highly misleading, for reasons others have explained. Also, most law grads will sacrifice mental/physical/financial health if their career requires. The question shouldn't be 'are scores average?' or 'is the pass rate similar?' it should be 'what undue sacrifices were made?'

This is 100% accurate. In our experience, the way Courts and BLEs have conducted themselves goes against everything we were taught in legal writing classes.

Does anyone else find it strange that law grad bar applicants had to be the ones to conduct a survey like this? And state bars/bar examiners never thought to ask anyone these kinds of questions? Almost makes it seem as if they don't even care, right?

At the very least, shouldn't Supreme Courts give diploma privilege to in-state law grads? How can you allow people to graduate from a law school in your state, then tell them they haven't shown minimal competence? Shouldn't this be true any year, but especially 2020 given COVID?

@JMolinaFlynnEsq I agree that lack of POC representation is a problem in the legal profession generally as well as in law school. This is one of the reasons we're taking issue with BLEs opting for bar exams instead of diploma privilege this year.

@XicanaRebelde @DiplomaPriv4All @StateBarCA @CaSupremeCourt According to @BarExamSurvey around 5% of applicants have become seriously ill as a result of COVID-19. 20% had a loved one become seriously ill. These are very significant numbers.

From the little bit I know about Johnny, I feel confident saying he will be a GREAT lawyer. The fact that he was essentially forced to withdraw is a shame because justice gaps are real in every state, and many indigent people could benefit from advocates like Johnny.

This is horrible. Johnny, we're so sorry you're dealing w this. If BLEs are willing to subject examinees to this, they should have a high burden of proving that bar exams actually protect the public from "bad" lawyers. So far, no BLE I've seen has even shown rational basis.
