🎧 Join us every Wednesday for insight and perspective on education, learning trends, school choice, and public policy.
Our hosts and guests offer a mix of provocative commentary as they interview school leaders, innovators, bestselling authors, policymakers, and more!
By any measure, a day bookended by conversations with middle school prospects looking to join our team & then undergrads, grad students, & young professionals reflecting back on their time in high school co-creating KSVT is a perfect one! #StuVoiceKY
Though hundreds of Ky students recently rallied in Frankfort for the bipartisan CROWN Act to end natural hair discrimination in schools after years of organizing & testifying & though the bill sailed out of committee, it will not be heard on the senate floor during #kyga23.
How do we attend school all day & still manage to keep tabs on bills affecting Ky students during #kyga23? We won't give away all of our secrets, but late night Zooms that allow us to strategize, build relationships & are inclusive of cats may have something to do with it.
Grateful to our rural & urban friends from @ThompsonSchola1 & @TheLeestownWay for traveling to @KET & student voicing with us today. We ❤️ building power with you! #stuvoiceky
Tune to tomorrow! @drvickip and I talk about TEACHING, the magic of TEACHING & LEARNING, recovery from the tornado in her home area in western KY, and her new role at the National Center on Education & the Economy @CtrEdEcon Eastern Standard on @889WEKU
Pleasure to talk with @DrLiggins of @FCPSKY for Eastern Standard. It’s all hands on deck in one of #KY’s largest school districts and Superintendent Liggins is optimistic about the school year ahead. #GroundswellKY for a #BigBoldFuture
"I love working with passionate teachers like the #PCFELLOWS because they are willing to look deeply at their own practice with an open mind and heart, seeking to improve," @lhill40. https://t.co/bBFO8k3R0P
You read it here first! While you are almost sleeping, our KSVT fellows & facilitators are sharing drafts & best practices tonight in preparation for a new KY youth-led ed journalism service coming to you live later this fall.
