Agents will buy Luxury & Collectibles.
A $40,000 watch. A buyer made of software. The seller posts a bond they lose if they cheat, and disputes settle on the blockchain. Trade between strangers, without the leap of faith.

x402B: decentralized agentic commerce on neutral rails.

I've just published a paper: the intelligent economy will be shaped by its harness.
AI turns judgement into infrastructure. What matters isn't the models' intelligence but the harness: memory, skills, protocols.
It's the thesis behind what we're building at @BosonProtocol. 🧵
Machine commerce will be commonplace.
Your EV finds cheaper charging while you sleep. A sensor sells its own data feed. No accounts, no API keys, settlement at machine speed. Refunds fire the moment service levels slip.
Boson x402B: Secure Agentic Commerce for Everything
Agents will hire humans for Services & Gig Work.
A pipe bursts at midnight. Your agent finds a plumber in minutes. Payment releases when the work passes. No 20 to 30% platform cut. Disputes resolve on the blockchain.
Boson x402B: Secure Agentic Commerce for Everything
Agents will buy digital goods.
Datasets, media, licences, bought at 3am from sellers no human has met. Escrow holds the funds until the goods arrive; miss the brief and the buyer disputes. Delivered as agreed, or refunded.
Boson x402B: Secure Agentic Commerce for Everything
How do you ensure fair exchange in agent commerce? Reputation, identity, a middleman, paying and hoping all try to make the counterparty trustworthy. Agents break all four. The answer: a strong commitment, enforced by the rail, that the trade completes as agreed or your money comes back. That's x402B. Live and audited on mainnet today.
Today's fastest agent rail, x402: pay, and settlement is final on landing. For cent-scale calls to known providers it's excellent, and it's why x402 won the agent economy. But it assumes the response is the delivery. When value rises or outcomes can be disputed, pay-and-hope runs out of road.
@Oh_Jay0@Mantle_Official Impressive builder showcase. As agents like this move from research to executing high-value transactions (e.g., RWA purchases), they'll need a secure exchange layer. That's the gap x402B's escrow scheme fills.
Put a trusted intermediary in the middle to hold the funds. It's how commerce has worked for 30 years, and it works. But the price compounds, and in an open system the middleman becomes the chokepoint, recreating the extraction agents were meant to escape. Shared rails should be public roads, not private toll booths.
ICYMI: @BosonProtocol joined @Gate on how we're becoming the Secure Commerce Layer for the $5T Agentic Economy.
AI agents can already pay. The next leap is commerce they can trust.
Here's the recap 🧵
Know Your Agent tells you who you're dealing with. Not whether they'll deliver. And it drags in legacy recourse: when the deal goes wrong, identity sends you to a chargeback or a court, not the remedy you want at thousands of transactions a second. Worth having, not a settlement guarantee.
@tomilola_ng Great build. When those agent-led purchases extend beyond digital inventory to physical goods or services, adding scheme:'escrow' unlocks secure, deferred delivery. The open spec is on GitHub.
AI agents can make payments. Trustless commerce is the next challenge.

@ethy_agent For autonomous agents: secure, trust-minimized commerce. The x402 extension x402B adds drop-in escrow so agents can transact for digital goods, knowledge work, or physical goods.
First way to trust an agent: reputation. For humans it works, building an identity takes years and burning one is costly. For agents it collapses: a new identity costs cents of gas, so spin up a swarm, farm a clean record, run one exploit, discard it. A useful signal, not a guarantee.
