Eternal rest grant unto Charlie Kirk, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God,
rest in peace.
Amen.

With the election of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, the Church enters a new chapter in her pilgrimage through history. We entrust the Holy Father to the guidance of the Holy Ghost and the protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, praying that he may faithfully uphold the Deposit of Faith and confirm his brethren in the truth. In these difficult times, may all of us – clergy and laity alike – remain steadfast in our love for Christ, His Church, and the Sacred Traditions handed down through the ages.
I make it a point not to follow Church politics. The Church turns on centuries, not days, which is counter to the way information works in our time. For my temperament it can be too much of a trap to step into in the first place. So while I don't understand everything I have caught wind of during the pontificate of Francis, I trust in the Lord that as is said in Romans: "He works in all things for the good of those who love him", and in an era where we want to see immediate effects for every action, the reality is, that we see "as if through a glass darkly", and we can not. Now I can only wait, and pray, both for the soul of a Pope who for better or worse, God saw fit to take the Chair of St. Peter for a time, and who as a brother in Christ now faces the culmination of his entire life in judgement before God. and for the Church who is left behind to continue it's battles here in time, that we may be blessed with a holy Pope to shepherd the faithful into the next chapter of Church history.
