After months of preparing and building everything, the McDonaldland TV shoot finally happened. While there was a lot of preparation prior to it, roughly 3 to 4 months, filming itself took "only" 3 full days. The set was divided in different worlds like the restaurant, the desert, the train. We constantly switched from one to the other to shoot the content. We partnered with a production company and an awesome director who are used to shoot practically and create universes like this.
Even the McDonaldland "stunts" were captured live, on a blue screen, by our actors. Birdie was flying with a harness over the McDonaldland set, same for Ronald McDonald. My favorite one may still be the puppeteer in charge of the fry friend, running through the desert, with a gigantic fan on it to mimic the effect of speed and wind. Priceless.
Hamburglar stealing the fries might be a close second though. Another proof that we really tried to recreate as much as we could practically to make fans feel the world of McDonaldland. It sometimes required an ungodly amount of takes, but we wanted fans to have this feeling of "realness" and authenticity.
The McDonaldland Meal gave us a chance to recreate the entire McDonaldland universe in real life in a new commercial. The music was reinvented by @ToroyMoi and it is the most enchanting and sweet summer song in my unbiased opinion.
