@_NickT__ If we win all remaining games we’ll have a .513 P% which likely leaves us picking 10-12. My guess is we win 3 of our final 5 and end up with a .488 P% and pick 9th. If we shit the bed against CHI & BOS and lose as expected to NJ and WSH we have a .451 P% and pick 4th or 5th
@dathockeydoe I also think teams that already have lots of high end talent should prioritize strong depth over using their assets for more elite players when needing to choose between the two. Dallas screwed themselves with the Rantanen trade both cap-wise and with overall roster quality
@dathockeydoe Teams shouldn’t try to be “the next Carolina” because drafting that well w/o high picks is nearly impossible. Most teams would just end up mid. However, teams should still draft for upside over size/projectability and hope to get a few steals to compliment their high picks (1/2)
@JFreshHockey What season do you consider the cutoff for which Sharks players are cursed? 2016? 2019? And do you think there’s a minimum amount of time for it to take hold or are ex-Sharks rentals cursed too?
@HunterHodies Same deal with West and whether it’s truly open again for deep teams like VGK/Dallas to win it or will a healthy Edmonton just run through it again
@HunterHodies Hoping the Panthers bounce back next season to face them in the ECF cause I’m really curious to see whether Carolina has finally cracked the code to consistently put up a fight against/win vs. high end talent teams or if this was just a one-off due to an easier path in the East.
@JoshYohe_PGH Ever since Bussi entered the net and gave them competent goaltending, they’ve been able to successfully play their awfully boring style. Series has been a drag since game 3 ended.
@JFreshHockey I honestly don’t know how any team that wants to win could sign him regardless of the AAV/term. With his style, he needs to play in a top 4 role if he’s going to play, but he’s not good enough to be a top 4 D-man on any non-lottery team.
@JFreshHockey@BrianWGR They’re not paying him for his regular season stats. They’re paying for his clutch playoff performances, especially as they go deeper.
@AGretz If Vegas had started Hill a few times throughout the prior 3 series, not only would Hart be more rested and possibly able to steal a game, or at least not lose them games, but also Hill wouldn’t be so cold. He hasn’t played since April 9th.
@AGretz Hart and Andersen turning into pumpkins this series (seemingly from running out of steam) should be a big sign to coaches that they need to make use of their backups more, especially when their starters are more of a 1A type than a true #1.
@PittsHKY@JoshYohe_PGH Even with retention, the Oilers will need to give up a lot of assets just to move his salary. If you’re after a high end winger, Rakell, Blomqvist, and a 2nd should be the package to acquire them.
