So Gerda's performance is one of the great running performances of all time at any running distance.
South Africans 🇿🇦 love @gerdarun but perhaps don't appreciate that her performances need to be considered in a more global running context, not just in terms of her performance as an ultramarathon runner.

If we could cut our social media time by half, we could spare an extra 50-60min per day for exercise, which multiplied by 5days/week it would be ~300min
I strongly believe that if we could cut social media by half or more and use that time to exercise ~300min a week since childhood, a vast number of type 2 diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and a bunch of several forms of cancers and even a good number of Alzheimer’s disease could be prevented. Nevertheless, the profound impact on our quality of longevity would be significant.
Finally, the impact on mental health disorders should also be significant.
