@willis_macp Frustrating that we’ll be in mid June before Jordan Cox plays a game for Essex, having hardly actually played a game at all during that time (albeit he’ll likely be a lock for these games).
@Jamie_Hudson_@EagleEyedColU@002Tomo I don’t know the ins and outs there but I imagine it’s hard to put a timeline on it when there’s probably a lot of conversations happen in private. If we weren’t in talks with someone majorly in the public eye, we probably would have found out later in the process
@DaleJohnsonBBC Does the EFL have a clear reason for splitting the teams geographically? With the first round being on a weekend, that eliminates the travel aspect, so not sure I see a good reason for it, especially with the preliminary conundrum this season
@HLTCO I know it’s not quite the same but there’s so many podcasts out there to fill every kind of gap within football I think.
I’ve always seen Talksport as a bit of a mockumentary and the sooner I understood that, it became more listenable.

Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per @rapsheet, @TomPelissero and me.
In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns.
@WillTaylorr0 He was pretty good but we were a really bad team. Easier to impress as a defensive minded midfield when you’re doing a lot of defending and your team don’t play with the ball
@Tyler7Smith Near word for word what I just said - it’s questionable from the defender but Madueke hooking his arm (because footballers in 2026 go searching for a duel even when they don’t need one) adds too much doubt
🆕 Heart of Midlothian can confirm that Beni Baningime, Frankie Kent, Alan Forrest and Lewis Neilson will leave upon the expiry of their contracts this summer.
All four players depart with our sincere thanks and appreciation.

@mandela_e Is there a particular league you see yourself in next season? How did you find Chelmsford after Colchester and the differences on/off the pitch?
@Tyler7Smith@StuartGarrard Exactly this. Like Tavernier at Rangers - scores lots of goals for a team at the top end of the table, but that’s nowhere near the full profile.
🏆 Player of the Season - Jack Payne
👶 Young Player of the Season - Micah Mbick
✍️ Signing of the Season - Jack Tucker
⚽️ Goal of the Season - Read vs Shrews
👍 Moment of the Season - Payne 2nd half hat trick vs Barnet
👎 Disappointment of the Season - bad Aug/Sep (again)

Now that the season is over, let’s have your team’s:
🏆 Player of the Season
👶 Young Player of the Season
✍️ Signing of the Season
⚽️ Goal of the Season
👍 Moment of the Season
👎 Disappointment of the Season
@Tyler7Smith Thought Paterson would hold them back, had them 7th in my prediction. Obviously a lot wrong there (esp Cambridge and Bromley), but playoff prediction were pretty good!
