@DLappartient: spend your money on more/better/independent safety managers who can force organizers to change a shit finish like this (and numerous other finishes this season)
THAT will improve safety, not a pointless legal battle. https://t.co/4M5xf1oYdW
The reason for the boos? MALDINI had always refused any moral authority of the ultras over the club. Their banner that day : "Thanks Captain, you lost the respect of those who made you rich." His answer : "I'm proud not to be one of them." #TheLastGame 2/2
Paolo MALDINI's last game at San Siro, 24 May 2009. After 24 years at his only club, the Milan legend walked off furious, booed by his own Curva Sud, who unfurled Franco Baresi's shirt : "Only one captain." #TheLastGame 1/2
In 1989, I saw Detroit beat LA in the NBA Finals. My ticket cost $25, or $67 in today’s money. I see the cheapest Game 3 ticket for Knicks-Spurs is going for $6,000…89 times the inflation-adjusted price I paid 37 years ago.
America, what happened?

Iraola: “wirtz, Isak, frimpong?? Who the hell signed these players?! Im gonna go speak to the owners”
His brain: “quiet you fool! It could’ve been us!”
It's 31 years ago to the day that this was broadcast - for my money one of the most joyous bits of TV ever committed to celluloid.
It is, of course, Mr Sting's appearence on The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer.
Chitter chatter chit

Celtic Fans For The Liberation Of Palestine (CFLP) has released a statement opposing the potential appointment of Robbie Keane as Celtic FC's new manager:
“As Celtic fans, we oppose the proposed appointment of Robbie Keane as manager of Celtic Football Club.
Celtic supporters have a long and proud history of solidarity with the Palestinian people. For us, Robbie Keane’s decision to manage Maccabi Tel Aviv during the genocide in Gaza is impossible to ignore. To choose to manage a club in Israel while, less than 40 miles away, the same country was using indiscriminate weapons of mass murder against a defenceless people is unconscionable.
Celtic was founded by a community shaped by the legacy of genocide, displacement and famine. Our club’s roots lie in solidarity with those who suffered injustice and oppression. We cannot forget where we came from, nor turn our backs on those facing genocide today.
At a time when Celtic requires unity and collective purpose, this appointment would be deeply divisive among the support. It would also represent a predictable and uninspiring choice at a moment when greater ambition is needed.
We urge the Celtic board to listen to supporters’ concerns and reconsider this appointment.”
Poor from the Southampton execs.
Trying to discredit the commission with whatabouttery does them no credit.
Leaders set the tone and the culture, they’ve let the fans and the club down with this.
If you are wondering why there are so many teams in the World Cup and why we are saturated with football on our screens then the answer is below. It is out of control
1er juin 1985.
Spot on from these pundits talking about the future fixture of Ireland v Israel and why it should not go ahead
Such a truthful conversation is unthinkable on British TV
