Every year, I give my lab (and myself) a "mini-sabbatical" to travel, decompress, pursue creative endeavors outside of regular work/studies.
So I spent some time learning video/audio + made a short film about my thoughts on teaching:

Was planning to submit a pre print to arXiv, but is in need of an endorsement of anther research to validate my account. is there anyone is is kind enough to help endorse my account?
Optimism is usually defined as a belief that things will go well. But that's incomplete. Sensisble optimism is a belief that the odds are in your favour, and over time things will balance out to a good outcome even if what happens in between is filled with misery.
My latest video to share with you some powerful approaches:

Had myself learning about the risk and concerns of AI safety (mainly about GPT-4 and its descendants), thanks for guiding me various perspectives, and I see hope and hope that there’s more compulsory AI safety course/seminar in every school
Here's my conversation with Max Tegmark (@tegmark), his 3rd time on the podcast. We discuss AGI, AI safety, nuclear war & the open letter (he co-led) calling for the halting of further development of large AI systems for 6 months. This was fascinating! https://t.co/MUQ3cZbj83
ChatGPT is not necessarily accurate. The references I asked to show are mostly with faulty DOI or not existing at all. Don’t be like me, don’t use it (at least for the moment) for your scientific writing :P
Something I wish I knew earlier, to master it in a more systematically way :)

FUN FACT: Seurat package is named after a famed artist, Georges Seurat, his painting style is about integrating discrete dots into a painting, e.g. orange and blue, pink and green, next to each other, to get strong color contrast. #Seurat#scRNAseq#Satijalab#Pointillism
It was my recent little discovery that AverageExpression() function in Seurat Package transforms the expression values differently from the normalised count data, did you know about it long ago or not? https://t.co/UKkOzZpZAm
I spent a whole night to figure out how to obtain a “prognosis risk score” for a set of genes 😆 I assumed there would be a R function to do, but wasn’t.
