But don't declare the disruption thesis dead: even after the surge, the stock is still down ~18% this year. The market priced in death; the quarter only proved "not dead yet." My read: AI won't kill consulting, but it rewrites what consulting sells — from outsourced labor to accountable AI implementation.
1/
AI was supposed to be consulting's gravedigger. Accenture just flipped the story: the stock posted its biggest single-day gain ever — and it's literally a consulting firm.
3/
The counterintuitive part is what's inside those bookings: large, multi-year AI transformation programs. Enterprises aren't using AI to replace consultants — they're hiring consultants to make AI actually work. AI didn't kill the middleman; it created a new kind of middleman.

My read: model intelligence was never going to be the binding constraint.
Whether an agent can spend money unsupervised — and settle up afterward — was.
The agent economy's first real infrastructure isn't a smarter model. It's a wallet.

The biggest AI-agent story this week isn't a benchmark or a subpoena.
Agents just became economic actors — and Ethereum built them a cash register first.
4/
Same week, OpenAI is reportedly burning ~7,000 GPUs to sift 50 petabytes of history, auditing what its agents actually did.
Liability: still unsolved. Settlement: already shipping.
That order of operations tells you where the agent economy is really headed.

My read: $86K marks the completion of the "pain trade," not the start of a bull run. The real test is the $86.5K–$87K resistance band: hold above it and it's a new leg; fail, and today's rally was just a gift from the shorts.
1/
Bitcoin's rally today was bought by people betting against it.
BTC reclaimed $86,000, touching $86,885 intraday. In about an hour, ~$120M in shorts got liquidated — the least willing buyers were forced to buy.
3/
So this move looks more like short-covering fuel than fresh long demand. Squeezes can shove price through resistance. They can't build a trend — that needs real spot buying to follow through.

That’s the trade-off.
Agency rulemaking can move while Congress can’t.
But rules written by one administration can also be challenged, rewritten or reversed more easily than statute.
The rules are still being written.
Just by fewer people — with less permanence behind them.

Crypto Mom is out.
The SEC is down to two commissioners. The CFTC has one.
Everyone is debating what the next crypto rules will say.
I keep coming back to a simpler question:
Who’s left to write them?
4/
And fewer commissioners doesn’t mean no regulator.
Two SEC commissioners can still form a quorum and act.
If anything, the more interesting shift is concentration:
A huge part of U.S. crypto policy is now being shaped by remarkably few people, through rules that don’t have the durability of an act of Congress.
