This article from @tryramp's engineering team is, in my estimation, required reading.

Token optimization will become a definitive competitive advantage for companies in the AI era, if not *the* definitive advantage.

Key takeaways:

→ Treat token efficiency as an engineering achievement, not a constraint.

→ Use frontier models (eg. Fable) for frontier problems.

→ Default to medium reasoning; increase only when the task requires it.

→ Turn fast mode off for most workflows.

→ Treat AI spend as an operating model problem; spend cheaply for routine work and expensively for outsized impact.
