Schoolyards were once filled with the voices of children, with laughter, dreams, and small backpacks carrying their hopes for the future. Today, many of these little ones are no longer with us. They were killed, perhaps alongside their entire families, leaving their seats empty forever.

As for these schools, many of them no longer exist at all. In Gaza, it was not only schools that were destroyed, but an entire childhood, the dreams of thousands of children, and a future they had every right to live.

How heartbreaking it is that school itself has become a stolen dream for a child in Gaza today.

This oil deal with Venezuela is absolutely insane.

President Trump just announced that the US has reached a deal to secure "majority control" of over 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan oil reserves.

Furthermore, the US currently has ~46 billion barrels of proven crude oil reserves.

Combined with the 65 billion barrels covered by this agreement, the US would have domestic reserves plus control over ~111 billion barrels of oil.

To put this into perspective, the entire world has roughly 1.57 TRILLION barrels of proven crude oil reserves.

In other words, the US is set to control ~7.1% of all proven oil reserves in the world under this new agreement with Venezuela.

At ~111 billion barrels, the US would be almost exactly in-line with the United Arab Emirates, which has 113 billion barrels of proven crude reserves, and it would exceed Kuwait's 102 billion barrels.

Assuming the agreement is structured as outlined in President Trump’s announcement, the implications for global energy markets will be enormous.

Israel kills four children in Gaza in five days as strikes devastate vital aid infrastructure

UNICEF reported that Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip killed four children between the ages of two and 16 over a five-day span, with victims dying in separate attacks, including one minor who succumbed to wounds sustained the previous week.

According to a statement issued by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), an additional five children ranging from eight to 17 years old suffered life-changing injuries from live fire and shrapnel.

The ongoing bombardment has heavily impacted critical humanitarian and civic resources, highlighted by a strike on a UNICEF partner warehouse that wiped out more than $770,000 in vital nutrition supplies intended for over 45,000 children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.

Furthermore, a UNICEF-supported water well and desalination facility in Deir al-Balah providing water to upwards of 4,000 people suffered severe damage, forcing operational partners to truck in water from alternate locations.

Operational dangers continued to escalate as an explosive munition detonated roughly 30 metres from a UN fuel convoy originating from Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem crossing. The incident occurred as the transport crossed the designated "Yellow Line" in Rafah.

This deal is a huge win for the pirates. Not so much for the pillaged. The Americans take the oil and leave the Venezuelan elite with a pile of freshly printed Benjamins.

The Venezuelan people will, as always, settle for whatever crumbs trickle down through the cracks.
