@rayengroves Yes we'd have been up the creek, without a paddle many times if it weren't for church friends!
For 2 of my babies, my in-laws purposefully planned vacations entire states away around my due date. MIL pulled through with that latest, C-section baby though, bless her.
@wrowclif There's a book called Overdiagnosed by Dr Gilbert Welch that I highly recommend. He talks about this and some other stuff like cancer screening
@wrowclif That's really what I'm coming to believe.
Do you finish the unfinished lesson the next day or just move to the next? We had to do math all the way through summer this year to catch up because we'd finish unfinished worksheets the next day.
@prairiehsewife Currently witnessing a grandmother in my family do the opposite and check out. The troubled grandkids are young, too. Her guidance could be hugely beneficial if she cared to help.
@ThymeToBeBorn I am a SAHM/faildaughter and the women disappointed in me for dropping my career are People Experiencing Cognitive Decline Who Should Have Downsized Recently. I get some wild phone calls from relatives who don't know what decade it is. Definitely same type of lady!
@Elliesmommyy23 Probably not... She lives a little under two hours away but usually only visits once a year, maaaaaybe twice.
She informed me that my friends were dropped off at my birthday parties 30 years ago and she seemed offended I was doing something different.
@MrsCMFrancis I've been a member of a church where the pastor would scold the congregation for drinking water. IMO that's a very control freak thing to care about and a bit of a red flag to me, given my experience ๐
@KatyLMA I've been a member of a church where the pastor would scold the congregation over this (amongst many other small things). Not a fan of this attitude.
@jarvis_best An all female team showed up at the hospital to transport my baby to a higher level NICU a town over, and I hit them with the obligatory "uhhhh yall are good drivers, right?"
Sometimes I think about that day and wonder how often they hear that question.
