There’s nothing “extra special” about the gym. You can build muscle at home as long as you have adequate resistance.
So instead of thinking about gym vs home vs outdoor for training, ask yourself, do I have adequate enough resistance to get stronger?
If I could give everyone who’s standing at the starting line of a big goal or a new journey a little piece of advice, it’s this:
Sometimes even the things we want to do, are hard to do.
Do them anyway. 👊🏼
TLDR: To perform a pull-up correctly, your entire body has to work as a synchronised machine. This includes engaging your core and glutes to maintain proper form, as well as activating the muscles in your back, shoulders, and arms to execute the movement.
3 common myths about women and pull-ups 👇
Myth: Pull-ups only require a significant amount of upper body strength to perform.
Truth: In actuality, pull-ups are very much a full-body exercise that requires a strong core & strong lower body/glutes + having a strong upper body.
Myth: Just losing some weight will make pull-ups easier
Truth: This is half true, but not the full picture. For most women, building well-rounded pull up strength while improving body composition (adding more muscle!) will improve your strength to bodyweight ratio - which is key
Ghee is just butter without the milk solids and water, so you’re left with the pure butterfat. I like ghee better for cooking than butter as it has a higher smoke point, which means you can cook at high temps without it burning (butter will burn when it gets too hot)
2/2: Despite the negative hype, cardio has a crucial role in health & training. Don't underestimate the benefits of longer, slower distance training.
1/2: Research shows a strong connection between aerobic fitness & longevity. While extreme endurance training isn't necessary, it's important to include aerobic exercise in your routine for optimal heart health & longevity.
I'm 36. This is my honest advice for people in their 20s:
1. Make decisions your future self will thank you for, not resent you for.
2. Somebody you know and love is going to die within the next 10 years. It could even be you. So live accordingly.
The response to exercise at a whole body level is what makes it so important! It's not ONLY about building muscle. Every small bout of exercise counts and every workout has an IMMEDIATE & positive effect as well as long-term effects.
