I’m deeply saddened by the tragic loss of two police officers and five members of the public in Cleveland this morning.
My thoughts are with their families, loved ones and everyone at Cleveland Police.
Thank you to the emergency services for their work during this time.
Another week, another stunning Liberal Democrat gain from Reform.
Well done to Councillor Ian Taylor and the hard working local team in Huntingdonshire!
Reports suggest that Andy Burnham has agreed to return UK spending on international aid to 0.7%.
This is the right thing to do, and I welcome it.
One of the @LibDems proudest legacies is securing this commitment in law - to the world’s poorest, to UK security and to our soft power.
So, I am asking the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary to publicly set out a roadmap for returning to our spending commitment and restoring the UK’s leadership in international development.
Brexit made it harder to stop dangerous Channel crossings.
The Conservatives and Nigel Farage would rather point fingers than take responsibility.
Lib Dems have a real plan: work with Europe to tackle it.
Six months ago, ministers voted down an amendment from Lib Dem peers to treat organised waste crime as seriously as drug trafficking or people smuggling.
The government should have been listening then. Today it announced a crackdown built on much the same argument.
The Liberal Democrats have renewed their call for a free-to-air revolution in British sport.
Demanding that at least 10 Premier League matches a season be made available on free-to-air terrestrial channels.

🧵 The gloomy outlook for the country’s finances will continue until the Government changes course on its anti-growth agenda. They must focus on cutting energy bills and reducing the burden on small high street businesses to boost growth and get money back into treasury coffers.
The Conservatives and Nigel Farage helped create the small boats crisis with their botched Brexit deal.
Now they want you to blame everyone else.
Only Lib Dems have a real plan: work with our European neighbours to tackle it.

Brexit promised control. Instead, small boat crossings soared and taxpayers face a £5bn bill.
A returns deal with Europe could stop the boats and restore control.
@mpmwilko
Measures on waste crime set out by the Government today fall woefully short for the communities that live around these sites.
The Government needs to wake up and smell the landfill.
So what should be done? Let’s have a look…
Congratulations to everyone picking up their GCSE results today!
A special shout out to the young carers balancing school with caring for loved ones. Juggling that responsibility takes incredible strength, and your dedication and resilience will take you far.
Sir Ed Davey has called for the UK to join the EU’s Migration and Asylum Pact to give the UK new powers to return small boat arrivals https://t.co/CCMqqtddrb
