#liberton5aday is here to share ideas for how we can stay connected, get active, take notice, learn and give - SAMH's 5 steps towards better wellbeing.
It's OK not to be OK. @liberton5aday
ideas are here to support wellbeing. If this doesn't feel like enough, reach out. Many of us have times when we need extra help to be as well as we can be. The important and brave thing to do is to find that help.

...and each other. This end of term checklist is one way to take some time and tune in to what you need just now. You can think it through in a quiet moment at the end of the day or talk it through over a cuppa. Take care. ❤️
As we head into the last days of term it's important to recognise the transition we're in from work to rest. As the circumstances we're learning, working and living in remain ever shifting and uncertain it's important we do what's in our power to do to look after ourselves...
#Teachers - would you like to join us for a free #mindfulness drop-in sit? From Dec 21st we will be running free daily practices online for all levels of experience. Join us for a bit of support ... https://t.co/Ycl8MDQBsj
... My son and I have been playing games like Yahtzee to CONNECT with each other. I run 5k every day so stay on the MOVE. I go walks in the park and NOTICE the changing of the seasons. 🥰🥰🥰." Take some time today to decide what your #December5aday might be this week. 😊
This is how our wonderful @tylaedinburgh volunteer @mannajon gets her #December5aday: "Every day my husband GIVEs me a small gift for Advent. I’ve been reading lots of books and LEARN so much. Eg about the war in Biafra in Half a Yellow Sun...
December can bring lots of different things our way. It's important to remember it's OK to feel what we feel and it's OK to say what we need (to others and to ourselves). We appreciated these wee nudges from Stacie Swift (on Instagram). And remember, it's OK to ask for help too.
We're thinking about the way sharing a favourite movie can be a great way to #connect. Thanks to our awesome librarian @HLiberton for the remider - her family are watching 18 Xmas films as part of their December so you know who to ask for festive recommendations #December5aday
Today's #December5aday was shared by the wonderful @MrsGalbraithlhs - the ta-da list. Though it's only one letter different from a 'to-do' list it is really quite different - getting us to #notice all the things we have done. Have you created yours for this week? ✨🎉✨
Today's #December5aday is from Lindsay and the Wellbeing Hub. They're giving us all a nudge to get on the #move. Cycling to and from work, taking walks around our school grounds - it's all about getting outdoors and active through the day. Enjoy finding a way that works for you.
Our #December5aday is getting underway with @LhsSfl's remider that music is always there for us when we need it and there's pretty much a tune out there for whatever you need right now...
Audio editing is underway for our virtual choir, sounding good already! The concert will be available from Tuesday 15th December with links to it on the school website, twitter and the school app.
We're running #December5aday as one way to stay connected to the small ways (and big ways) we can look after ourselves and each other. We want to use what's working for ppl in our school community just now. So, what's helping you be well? #notice#connect#give#learn#move
❤️ this. Taking a moment to pause, #notice (and maybe draw, write or talk about) some of the things we feel gratitude for is good to do. What's on your positivity jar? As they come in all shapes and sizes they can hold things as small as a single breath or sound or as big as love
Our S2 this week are drawing Positivity Jars. Some wise words from one young person - " In life there are many things to be positive and thankful for but most of the time we worry and forget the good. Why not take a moment and think."
It is #RefugeeWeek2020. Here are some of the titles from the Escape, Connect, Relate collection that can help promote an understanding of why people seek sanctuary and the difficulties they face. #ReadForEmpathy.
This week, remember to take regular breaks from work (and just now, lots of us need more frequent breaks than we had at school). We can #move, stretch, drink some water, have a wee dance or do something that makes us smile and then go back to our tasks relaxed and refocused. 😊
