Driving home from work today, I heard Katherine Rundell talking about an online anthology: it's called the Book of Hopes and it's a pure delight - link below. She defined children's literature as "a distillation of what makes humanity extrodinary."

I have just finished reading "A Single Thread," by Tracy Chevalier. I know several of our year 12 students would really enjoy this title. Very appropriate for VE day too.
Exciting news E-Book readers! Batman, new Rick Riordan and Horowitz titles added to the collection. Personally I'm after the new Nick Hornby unless someone beats me to it ..
I have been really enjoying @SirPatStew reading #ASonnetADay. They feel as if Shakespeare is pouring his heart out to you, in an intimate, personal conversation.
A treat for you all - author interviews from past Hay Festivals. Please do drop me an email and let me know if you find any of them particularly inspirational, or if they mention any books you'd like for the library when we get back.

The Philosopher's Stone is also one of the audible books which can be streamed for free - you could also try it in French or German!
I know a few of us have been waiting for this to launch. I'm hoping as my eldest son is home for the duration he will do the decent thing and download a copy for us.

audible has made a selection of their audio books available free of charge. I'm a sucker for a good "talking book," will be listening to one of these this afternoon while I go for for a walk.

World Book have made their e-collection available on line. There's some titles that may be of interest especially the biographies. Hopefully this link should work.
